The very reliable Sky Sports reporter Anthony Joseph has said he would be ”very surprised” if Odsonne Edouard left Celtic this summer.
Neil Lennon’s star Frenchman has been of interest to numerous Premier League and major European clubs, although no concrete bids have been made at this time.
Lennon has been steadfast about his desire to retain the services of the 22-year-old as Celtic chase an unprecedented 10th league title in a row, and now it seems he may get his wish.
Scottish journalist, Joseph went on to say Edouard would stay at Celtic barring something extraordinary:
Unless someone throws silly money at Celtic in the next couple of weeks. Very few clubs spending big in the grand scheme of things.’
With the transfer window closing in a fortnight, as things stand, it looks as though last seasons Scottish Premiership top goalscorer will remain a Bhoy, much to the relief of all associated with the club.
The striker has continued his form and has bagged four goals in his opening five league appearances.
There could still be time for some incomings at Parkhead as the club continue their pursuit of Charlton Athletic midfielder Alfie Doughty, although, perhaps more importantly, it seems like the exit door may be closing on Edouard.
