Celtic lost the first Glasgow derby in 10 months on Saturday, however, some Hoops supporters took comfort in Stephen Welsh’s performance.
The 20-year-old started alongside Kris Ajer and Shane Duffy in a back three during the 2-0 defeat, his first league outing since the 4-1 win over Hamilton in February.
Unfortunately, Welsh couldn’t do anything to prevent Celtic falling four points behind Rangers in the Scottish Premiership, with Connor Goldson’s double proving to be the difference.
Welsh was eventually withdrawn for David Turnbull in the latter stages, but the defender’s display had plenty of fans talking.
Glasgow Live reporter Chris Doyle shared his views on the youngster, which led to these Hoops supporters praising the 20-year-old’s performance.

Welsh, as per WhoScored, recorded a better match rating than five other Celtic starters, with Ajer, Scott Brown and Callum McGregor the only three to earn a higher rating.
