Celtic appear to be in a rare rut and suffered another defeat in the week against Sparta Prague.
The Hoops once again let in four against the Czech giants, with the heavy loss confirming their Europa League exit with two group games still to play.
Plenty of players came in for criticism following the loss, including Scott Bain.
The goalkeeper hasn’t been having the best of times in between the sticks after Neil Lennon handed him a first start of the season against Aberdeen in a 3-3 draw.
Bain has conceded 17 goals in his eight appearances with just one clean sheet and didn’t do himself any favours with his display on Thursday.
The 29-year-old was the worst-rated player from either side, ending with an awful WhoScored rating of 4.48/10.
Bain finished with a pass accuracy of just 29.6%, and we feel that Lennon, should he remain in charge, needs to bring back summer signing Vasilis Barkas.
Barkas has turned out 14 times since his £4.5m arrival from AEK Athens, conceding 11 and keeping eight clean sheets.
Bain came in for Barkas against Aberdeen last month due to a back issue, however, the 26-year-old has been fit enough for a place on the bench since then.
Yes, Barkas has also come in for criticism this season, but you don’t splash out £4.5m on an international ‘keeper to then only have him warming the bench at the first point of concern.
Bain hasn’t exactly nailed down the number one spot, if anything, it has emphasised the fact that Barkas needs to com back in, starting this weekend.
