Celtic fans continue to call for Eddie Howe

The pressure is mounting on Neil Lennon following yet another Celtic defeat.

The Hoops fell to a second successive 4-1 loss to Sparta Prague on Thursday evening and many fans continued to call for Eddie Howe to replace Lennon at Parkhead.

Howe was first tipped as Lennon’s replacement by fans following the Glasgow derby defeat, with many supporters again calling for the 42-year-old after the 4-1 home defeat to Sparta Prague prior to the international break.

The heavy defeat against the Czech giants confirmed Celtic’s exit from the Europa League with two group games still to play. The Hoops also sit 11 points behind Rangers at the top of the Premiership, although they have two games in hand on Steven Gerrard’s men.

@StandForCeltic shared their views on who should be Lennon’s possible successor, describing Howe as ‘the perfect option’.

The post received plenty of interaction, with these Hoops fans agreeing that the former Cherries boss should be the man in the Celtic Park dugout. One supporter pleaded with the club to “sell him the Rodgers redemption story”, a nod to Lennon’s predecessor who enjoyed huge success in Glasgow after an inglorious end to his time at Liverpool.
