Odsonne Edouard has been linked with a move away from Celtic and the Hoops are on the hunt for a potential replacement ahead of the January transfer window.

Celtic have been linked with the likes of Kaspar Junker and Lukas Nmecha recently, and Peterborough Today claimed that Siriki Dembele is the latest name on their radar.

However, they may have to battle a multitude of clubs – including Rangers, Fulham, Newcastle United, Nottingham Forest and Stoke City – for his signature.

The 24-year-old has scored five goals and supplied five assists in 17 League One games this season and his manager Darren Ferguson has described him as “absolutely outstanding“.

Dembele, who is the brother of Celtic’s Karamoko, looks on course to break his own record for goals and assists (brother of Celtic’s Karamoko), so it’s easy to see why clubs are queuing up to sign him. Whether he would be good enough to succeed Edouard remains to be seen, though.

The 22-year-old has scored 70 goals and provided 33 assists in 148 games for Celtic, so he would not be easy to replace. Celtic have their eye on other strikers too, and Dembele has never played at a higher level than English League One, so his numbers can be taken with a pinch of salt.
