Celtic enjoyed a 3-0 win away to Hamilton on Boxing Day and Odsonne Edouard was praised by many Hoops supporters on social media for his “superb” performance.

The 22-year-old scored one goal and set up another, netting from the penalty spot early in the second half and teeing up Leigh Griffiths for Celtic’s second before the hour mark. Edouard could have had more goals and created numerous opportunities for teammates in what turned out to be a procession for Neil Lennon’s side

Edouard was outstanding against Hamilton in a redemptive display after he was criticised by many Hoops fans for an ineffective showing against Ross County in midweek. The 22-year-old has scored 10 goals and supplied three assists in 21 games but, prior to yesterday, had found the back of the net only once in the Scottish Premiership since September (Transfermarkt).

In other news, Celtic are in the hunt for an England-based striker with a family member already at Parkhead.
