Celtic fans react to Cameron Harper transfer update

Celtic youngster Cameron Harper is thought to be closing in on signing a pre-contract agreement with New York Red Bulls.

As to be expected, the news has had plenty of Hoops fans talking on social media.

According to The Athletic, the attacker is in advanced discussions with the MLS outfit ahead of a summer switch, despite Celtic’s attempts of a new deal.

The 19-year-old made his Celtic debut in the 1-1 draw with Hibernian last Monday but struggled to make any major impact and was replaced on the hour mark for Armstrong Okoflex.

The American failed to have a single shot on target and ended with a WhoScored rating of 5.88 – the worst score of any Hoops starter.

Harper was dropped five days later in the stalemate with Livingston, failing to feature from the bench.

Celtic Facebook fan page Glasgow Celtic Champions shared the news over the weekend.

The post received plenty of interaction, with many not too worried about the teenager’s likely Parkhead exit.
