Plenty of Celtic supporters have urged the club to bring in Eddie Howe after Neil Lennon resigned as Hoops boss.

The club confirmed the news of Lennon’s departure this morning, with assistant manager, John Kennedy, taking interim charge of the Bhoys.

The search for Lennon’s permanent successor now appears to be on, and Howe is a name who has been linked with the Parkhead hot seat in recent months.

Premier League duo Newcastle United and Crystal Palace are also thought to be keen on the 43-year-old, who has been out of management since leaving Bournemouth back in August.

Howe led the Cherries from League Two to the Premier League in the space of six seasons, taking charge of more than 450 games on the south coast. He admitted back in November that a return to management would have to be in a position that ‘really motivated me‘, with the Hoops planning a summer squad overhaul.

These Celtic fans on Twitter all staked their claim to bring in Howe, with one even comparing him to former Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers.
