Celtic face quite the rebuild this summer, that isn’t breaking news. A number of notable names are rumoured to be departing after a bleak season, so planning for the future is crucial, otherwise we risk facing an uphill battle next season. Along with the likely few who could leave after years of service in Glasgow, there are four players who are on loan from other clubs. The question is: Should we aim to extend their stay, or will we cut ties with all of them and start afresh?

Things are already happening at boardroom level, with Dominic McKay set to take over the reins as the new CEO following the announcement of Peter Lawwell’s retirement.

There has also been rumours that the club are looking to appoint a director of football in a bid to modernise the club’s structure, and it seems inevitable that the playing squad will face a reshuffle as the current season (finally) draws to a close.

This leaves four players (Mohamed Elyounoussi, Diego Laxalt, Shane Duffy, and Jonjoe Kenny) in a sticky situation. It seems highly unlikely that all four will be back at Parkhead next season, with it being more probable that they will return to their parent clubs, but will at least one of them extend their stay for the 2021/22 campaign?

I take a look at each player, whether I’d want them back and if I think the club will offer therm another deal.
