It seems as if Celtic will be in the market for a new right-back this summer after Jeremie Frimpong and Hatem Elhamed left Parkhead earlier this year.
And one man who has recently been linked with a move to Glasgow is ADO Den Haag defender Milan van Ewijk. According to Dutch outlet Voetbal International, Celtic are just one of a number of sides keen on the 20-year-old’s signature.
German trio Schalke, Hamburg and Darmstadt, as well as Belgian side Gent, are also credited with an interest. The Hoops have reportedly ‘expressed their interest’ and there’s a ‘very good chance’ van Ewijk will leave his current employers in the summer.
Van Ewijk, who can also play as a centre-back, has been a regular for ADO Den Haag this season – missing just 61 minutes of Eredivisie action.

To us, the links to van Ewijk are exciting. Voetbal International label the defender’s development as ‘stormy’ and describe the youngster as ‘one of the few bright spots’ at the club.
The Dutch defender currently holds a £450,000 Transfermarkt valuation and is out of contract in June 2022, so a move, financially, could be a realistic one.
The Hoops are thought to be working on securing some top young talent ahead of the summer window, and even though a deal for van Ewijk cannot be officially completed until the summer, Celtic could still put in some groundwork ahead of a possible Glasgow move.
It seems as if the club may face some competition for van Ewijk’s services, though, so this could be one to keep a close eye on.
