With Ange Postecoglou’s pre-season plans at Celtic long underway, Celtic fans have spotted the return of Leigh Griffiths.
The versatile 30-year-old was the subject of intense transfer speculation amid rumours his deal was set to expire, though those rumours were swiftly put to rest.
Celtic recently confirmed the Scotland international had penned a one-year contract extension following the technical expiration of his existing deal.
Griffiths had revealed new boss Ange Postecoglou had held positive talks with the forward, with Griffiths expressing his delight in the faith shown by the Celtic tactician:
“I am delighted to extend my time at the club. Celtic is a club I love and want to do all I can to play my part again in bringing success to our supporters,” Griffiths said upon confirmation of fresh terms.
“I’m looking forward to the season ahead and working with the new gaffer and the rest of the lads. It is an exciting time for the club and I wanted to be part of the club’s future. I’ll be doing everything I can to help us get back to where we all want to be.”
Ahead of Celtic’s pre-season camp in Wales, Griffiths joined a number of high-profile Celtic players in a .gif montage posted by the club on their official Twitter profile.
Joining Griffiths and Postecoglou himself were the likes of Callum McGregor, Odsonne Edouard and David Turnbull.
New signing Liam Shaw was visible, though Osaze Urhoghide did not feature in the post.
Attracting over 1400 likes as of Monday afternoon, the post confirmed Griffiths’ cemented role with the squad.
Griffiths has made 261 appearances in a Celtic shirt, scoring 123 goals.

Griffiths’ inclusion in Celtic’s pre-season plans presents a unique opportunity for the veteran Hoops hero to make a first-hand impression on Ange Postecoglou.
