Pundit and former Celtic star Chris Sutton has issued a hilarious response in the aftermath of both Celtic and Rangers’ Europa League defeats in the group stages yesterday.
Celtic were unlucky not to come away with anything to show for some commendable exploits after falling to a 4-3 defeat against La Liga side Real Betis, whilst Rangers suffered a 2-0 loss against Lyon in their group.
The Bhoys themselves 2-0 up thanks to Albian Ajeti’s third goal in two games and later, a successfully converted penalty from Josip Juranovic.
However, a quickfire double from on-loan Barcelona left-back Juan Miranda and a goal from Juanmi undid Celtic’s advantage in just two minutes before a latter duo of goals firmly slipped Betis into the driving seat.
A late goal from inverted attacking full-back Anthony Ralston on the eighty-seventh minute offered a glimmer of hope of salvaging a point, but the damage was already done.
In the wake of the defeats for both Glasgow giants, Sutton took to Twitter to issue a hilarious jab at both results as well as his own personal misfortunes.
Sutton, along with ex-Bhoys boss Neil Lennon, was barred from covering the fixtures for BT Sport at Ibrox due to their Celtic connections being deemed a security risk against the potential agitation of Rangers fans.
As a result, Sutton simply said ‘didn’t miss much’ on the social media platform.

Sutton just couldn’t help himself – though there were nine goals between the two games, offering at least something to miss.
Regardless, the quip is to be admired!
