EFL Championship side AFC Bournemouth have taken to social media to confirm the signing of Celtic target Robbie Brady.
The 29-year-old Republic of Ireland international was without a club following his release from Burnley at the end of last season, and he was intensely linked with a free transfer north of the border much like his compatriot, James McCarthy.
Celtic found themselves short of left-sided options following an injury to Greg Taylor, meaning Brady was tipped with a switch to Glasgow as short-term cover.
Versatile and mainly a winger, he was also deployed as a left-back at times by Sean Dyche – but any hope of the Bhoys reinforcing with him have been quashed.
Sadly, Bournemouth winger David Brooks recently confirmed he was diagnosed with a form of cancer and has begun recovery treatment with Brady seemingly set to fill the void on a short-term basis.
The club have since taken to Twitter to confirm the arrival of the experienced utility player, with Brady also adding that Bournemouth boss Scott Parker won him over as he pitched him a run in the first-team due to Brooks’ absence.

He told AFCBTV :
“For where I’m at now, and the idea of getting back to playing football, this is a better opportunity than most to come and play.
“From watching the manager and seeing the style of football he plays I think it will suit me.
“It was a good opportunity and no doubt it’s going to be a good fit.”

Brady’s Premier League experience would not have gone amiss in this Celtic team, but fans will not hugely lament the loss.
Many were praising Boli Bolingoli for his performance at left-back in Celtic’s 2-0 Fir Park win over Motherwell, offering hope that the Belgian can supplement existing option Greg Taylor with ease.
