One Celtic fan account has used the scoring form of Odsonne Edouard in the Premier League to defend the calibre of the club.
Edouard joined south London-based Premier League club Crystal Palace from the Bhoys on deadline day and has already scored three goals for his new club in the English top-flight.
Resultingly, Edouard is already looking to be a shrewd acquisition under Patrick Vieira’s new-look side – especially given his stats in terms of efficiency in front of goal.
Popular Celtic fan page Everything Celtic (@aboutceltic) took to Twitter to share a chart for goals-per-minute in the Premier League – of which Edouard comes top:

However, the page also tacked on the sarcastic remark of ‘pub league’ at the end in a shutdown of criticism over the quality of football in Scotland.

Whether Edouard can sustain his form for Palace over the duration of the season remains to be seen, but the former Celtic ace is certainly taking to the Premier League like a duck to water.
Regardless of whether Edouard is fondly remembered by Celtic fans or not, he is a fine testament to the work that Celtic can do in terms of developing young talent and selling them on for profit.
Edouard – much like the likes of Moussa Dembele and Virgil van Dijk – is proving that top talent is fully capable of emerging in Scotland and adapting to elite-level European leagues without issue.
Edouard is a credit to the quality of football in Scotland in that view.
