Summer signing Carl Starfelt is attracting praise for his recovery in form at Celtic.
The Sweden international joined directly following the sale of Kristoffer Ajer to Brentford after Celtic agreed a deal with Russian side Rubin Kazan, but Starfelt’s embedding into life at Celtic was not always a smooth ride.
However, Starfelt’s recent few games have shown an upturn in confidence on the ball and defensive acumen, with Starfelt playing a leading role in helping the Bhoys to a clean sheet in their 2-0 win over Motherwell.
Commenting on the recent performances of the Scandinavian bulwark, popular Celtic fan page Everything Celtic (@aboutceltic) took to Twitter to deliver a verdict.

“Credit where credit is due. Carl Starfelt has really brought himself on to a game recently & looks to be improving game on game, fantastic to see”, noted the page.
However, not all fans were convinced; one user wrote the following as a response:
“Nearly cost us a goal yesterday in a game where Motherwell did nothing. Dont know where people are seeing this amazing form. Kidding yourselves on.”

Starfelt certainly embodies the archetypal ball-playing defender that is becoming increasingly common in football.
Starfelt often looks to play out from deeper positions, control possession and take more risks – occasionally making for some costly, heart-in-mouth moments for Celtic fans.
The defender has said his team simply have to focus on Ferencvaros as they fight to stay alive in the brutal qualification battle from Group G ahead of the likes of Bayer Leverkusen and Real Betis, and all eyes will be on whether he is dependable enough to keep Carter-Vickers and Jullien out of the starting XI as a duo.
