Celtic’s upcoming Premier Sports Cup Final against Hibernian is a big game for the club. The Hoops have a chance to win the first trophy of the Ange Postecoglou era, and put a marker down for the rest of the season.

As it is the first cup final of the season, there could be some nerves in the Celtic squad, especially from those players who have never played in a cup final before.

One player in the Celtic squad that will surely take the match in his stride, and not be overawed by the occasion is goalkeeper Joe Hart. Hart is a player who has seen and done it all in football, and that includes playing in cup finals.

Hart won one FA Cup final and two League Cup finals in his time at Manchester City, so he knows how to get the job done in domestic cup finals.

Hart could be useful for Celtic in a few ways at Hampden Park. For a start, he has been one of the Hoops’ best performers this season. It would not be a surprise to see him turn in a fine display on the day.

He could also be useful when it comes to encouraging the players that have not played in a cup final before. Hart could explain to those players what playing in a cup final is all about, and advise them how to avoid getting overawed by the occasion.

Hart has been a key man for Celtic since joining the club from Tottenham in the summer. There might have been some doubts his signing since he had not played much first-team football in the last few years, but any doubts have surely been silenced by a string of good displays.

It might have been a gamble by the club to sign Hart, but Celtic were obviously looking for an experienced goalkeeper, and Hart fit the bill. If he can stay fit, there is no reason why Hart can’t play for Celtic for another few years, as he is 34-years-old, and for a goalkeeper that is still quite young.

It would be a great start to Hart’s Celtic career if he can win a trophy with the Hoops after only a few months at the club. That would show that the Bhoys made the right decision in bringing the player to the club.

Who knows, should the game go to penalties then Hart could perhaps show his prowess in that area, and be the cup winning hero for the Bhoys.
