It is understandable that most people have been talking about Kyogo after Celtic’s Premier Sports Cup Final Win over Hibernian. After all, the Japanese striker did score the two goals that secured the 2-1 win over the Easter Road side.
However, one moment that should be examined more is Tom Rogic’s sublime pass which set up Kyogo’s winning goal.
With the Hoops awarded a free-kick, Rogic spotted Kyogo making a run, and his ball was perfectly weighted to find the striker, who lobbed the ball over Matt Macey and into the net.

For any other player that pass by Rogic would seem to be out of the ordinary. But for Celtic’s Australian playmaker it is just another day at the office.
He is capable of those moments of genius in most of the games that he plays, and arguably Rogic has taken his game to a new level since the arrival of manager Ange Postecoglou.
The Hoops manager must be given credit for how well he has managed to get Rogic to perform this season. He was always a great player for the side. But there were doubts about his fitness and his ability to perform for 90 minutes.
That seems to have changed under Postecoglou, who has managed to get Rogic to perform for entire games. His fitness levels seem to be very high this season.
Rogic has been key for Celtic this season. If he can stay fit then he will be vital for the Hoops in their bid to win the title in Postecoglou’s first season as the manager at Celtic Park.
When Rogic eventually leaves Celtic, his sublime pass to Kyogo might not even feature in his top 10 moments at the club, as there have been so many moments of genius from the player.
His goals against Rangers, the winner in the Scottish Cup Final against Aberdeen, Rogic has been a very special player.
For most fans, the arrival and success of Kyogo will probably be seen as the best part of Ange Postecoglou’s time as Celtic manager so far. But the part that the manager has played in Rogic’s return to form can’t be overlooked.
Hopefully Rogic can maintain his current level of form for the rest of the season 2021/22 campaign. Even if he can’t, he has given Celtic fans yet more moments of magic to look back on in the future.
