Celtic‘s recent 4-0 win over Ross County not only kept the Hoops three points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership going into the international break, but it kept the Bhoys’ remarkable unbeaten domestic run going.

Ange Postecoglou’s side are 31 games unbeaten in Scotland, a run stretching back in September, and taking in games in the Premiership, Scottish Cup and Premier Sports Cup.

The run of form not only sees the Hoops top the league table, but also reach the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup and win the Premier Sports Cup.

Looking at the 31 games collectively, Celtic have won 27 of the games and drawn four. In the league the Hoops have picked up 69 out of 75 points available.

In the 31 games, Celtic have scored 65 goals, an average of 2.09 per game. During the unbeaten run the Hoops have conceded 16 goals, which is an average of 0.5 goals per game. It is the defensive side of the team which has been the foundation of Celtic’s good results this season, and the Hoops backline deserves plenty of credit for their performances during the unbeaten run.

When it comes to scoring goals, Giorgos Giakoumakis has been the top scorer during the unbeaten run, all 12 of his goals this season have come during the 31-game spell.

Obviously there are still more games for Celtic to play this season. Seven in the league, and one – and hopefully – two in the Scottish Cup. But the Hoops fans and players should be confident that Celtic will be able to continue that unbeaten run.

There will be tests for Celtic in the weeks to come, most notably the three games against Rangers, two in the league one in the Scottish Cup. There could also be an away game against Hearts, Hibernian or Livingston – where Celtic have dropped points this season – after the league splits, depending on who finishes in the top six.

But this Celtic side has it in them to handle any challenges that they come up against. Look at how the team have coped without Kyogo and David Turnbull for so long. Those absences could have derailed Celtic’s season, but the Hoops have managed to keep on going and keep picking up results.

The statistics outlined above show just how well the Hoops have been playing this season. If that form can continue for another eight or nine games, then Celtic will have completed one of the best seasons in the club’s entire history.
