Celtic’s 3-1 win over Ross County was notable for a first Hoops goal for loan signing Moritz Jenz in his Celtic debut, and it was an important goal too, as it gave the Hoops the lead in the game in the 84th minute.

Jenz is one of a number of players that have joined the Hoops over the years on loan, and hopefully he goes on to make a telling contribution for the Bhoys like so many loan signings have over the years.

Obviously it is better for clubs to make permanent signings, but on some occasions loan moves can work out, either on the short-term or in the long-term, if they lead to permanent moves, like happened this summer with the duo of Jota and Cameron Carter-Vickers.

Only time will tell if Celtic make some more loan signings before the end of the current transfer window, but for now it is time to look back at some notable loan signings from Celtic’s past.
