Celtic have been quiet in the transfer market in the past few weeks, but there is still time for the Hoops to make more purchases before the transfer window slams shut on the 31st of August.

On the face of it, there looks to be no need to make any more signings. The Hoops have started the season well with two wins out of two in the Premiership, and the team look well-placed to have another good season under the management of Ange Postecoglou.

However, should some players who are out of favour depart over the next few weeks, then the Hoops could decide to bring in at least one player to bolster the squad.

The Hoops might not be looking for players that will go into the first-team squad straight away, it might be players that will genuinely be squad players that the club are looking at, although that will depend on who departs the Hoops before the transfer window closes.

Looking at the Celtic squad, perhaps the Hoops boss might consider buying another midfielder, to take the place of Nir Bitton, who as yet has not really been replaced since leaving the Hoops at the end of the season. Maybe Celtic won’t look for a replacement for Bitton, but if they do then that is one area of the squad that the Hoops could look to add a player in.

There is also up-front, where Celtic have two main strikers in Georgios Giakoumakis and Kyogo, and a player that is out of favour in Albian Ajeti. If Ajeti leaves before the end of the window, the Hoops might well consider bringing another forward in, perhaps on loan, to provide real competition to the main two strikers.

If Celtic don’t sign another player before the transfer window closes, the squad as it stands does look well equipped to win the Scottish Premiership title for the second season in a row. The Champions League group stages could be a different story, but then they were always going to be tough for the Hoops no matter who the club signed in the transfer window.

Yes, Celtic should sign at least one more player

No, the Celtic squad is good enough as it stands

We shall find out soon enough if Celtic will make anymore signings in the current transfer window, as at the time of the writing the window will close in just over three weeks.
