With Celtic returning to Rugby Park to face Kilmarnock this weekend for the first time in a few years, it is time to look back at the Hoops career of Stan Petrov, who enjoyed one of his best moments as a Celtic player when he scored the goal which clinched the league title for Celtic at Rugby Park in season 2003/04.
Petrov was a great player for the Hoops, and he was a key man for Celtic during the massively successful Martin O’Neill era at the club.
After a disappointing first season at Celtic under John Barnes, O’Neill moved Petrov from full-back to midfield, and he right away became one of the best players at the club in a Celtic side which was full of players who could be considered as Hoops legends.
Petrov enjoyed a hugely successful seven years at Celtic, and he has to be considered as one of the Hoops’ best players of the 2000s. What do you remember about Stan Petrov’s Celtic career? Take part in our quiz to find out!
