It seems that after a lot of speculation, Christopher Jullien’s time at Celtic could be coming to an end, as it has been reported that the player is set to travel to France to have a medical with Montpellier.
French football website L’Equipe is reporting that the player is set to have a medical in France today – Tuesday the 23rd of August – with a view to completing a loan deal to join the French side.
How the deal will be worked out remains to be seen, as the player’s contract at Celtic expires at the end of the season, and the Hoops won’t want to lose the player for nothing, which could happen if he leaves on loan and not on a permanent transfer, we shall no doubt find out more if the deal takes place.
There is no guarantee that the deal will go ahead, as the player travelled to Germany back in June to have a medical before completing a move to join Schalke, and that move reportedly broke down due to wage demands, so it remains to be seen if the player and Montpellier can get a deal agreed to complete a move away from Celtic Park.
If the 29-year-old does agree to leave the Hoops it will be the best thing for him, as it currently stands he has little to no chance of featuring for the Celtic first-team, as he is fifth choice centre-back for the club.
He will be desperate to get his career back on track and play regular first-team football again, something that is not going to happen at Celtic Park, where the player has failed to gain a place in the side under Ange Postecoglou.
It has really been a career of two halves for Jullien at Celtic, as the first half of his time at the club saw him be a mainstay of the team, that started almost every game for the Bhoys.
It has been a completely different situation for the last year though, as the player first suffered a serious knee injury then failed to get back into the Celtic side once he regained his fitness.
You have to imagine, that with the transfer window closing in just over a week’s time, that Jullien will be leaving Celtic one way or another, but there is no guarantee that move will be to Montpellier, only time will tell when it comes to the player’s future, and where he will be when the transfer window closes on the 1st of September.
If the big man leaves I would like to say thank you very much ,I did like seeing him playing every week and as if he was he was able to score here and there for us I mind him scoring against rangers and running pulling his shirt as if he was superman great and that last time he played for us when he got hurt by trying to stop a goal against us that year he was one of our better players that year ,so I wish him good health and a happy return back to playing football big Ange has got everything correct since coming in and it is a pity it has not worked out for big Julien so I hope everything works out for him and once a TIM always a Tim and he will be always welcome home
