So far in his time as Celtic manager, Ange Postecoglou hasn’t really looked to the Scottish Premiership for signings, the only player that he has signed from Scotland in Ben Siegrist, and that was on a free transfer after he had left Dundee United on a free contract.

However, there is another player who plays in the Scottish Premiership that the Hoops should at least be keeping tabs on to see how he progresses as a player over the next 12 months, and that is Aberdeen striker Bojan Miovski.

The player has had a superb start to life in Scotland, scoring 12 goals in 18 games in all competitions, which is a very good record, and one which Celtic strikers would be proud of.

Is the 23-year-old good enough for Celtic yet? Maybe not, but he could be if he continues to score on a regular basis in the Scottish Premiership. Celtic fans will get the chance to judge how good the player is for themselves as the Hoops’ first game after the World Cup break is against Aberdeen at Pittodrie, and it will be interesting to see how Miovski fares in the game.

Hopefully he doesn’t find the back of the net, but if he ends the season with 25 goals for example, that would be a very impressive first season in Scotland, and one which would have clubs interested in the player.

Celtic do have two strikers at the club at the moment in Kyogo and Georgios Giakoumakis, and they are probably of a higher standard than Miovski, but the Aberdeen man could end up scoring more goals than the Celtic duo in the Premiership this season, and that would be a notable achievement for the player in his first season in Scotland.

Only time will tell how Miovski will fare in the second-half of the season, but he is looking like one of the best non-Celtic or Rangers players to play in Scotland for a long time, and that will especially be the case if he manages to keep up his current level of form for the entire season.

Celtic don’t at the moment need to sign another striker, but Ange Postecoglou does like to sign attacking players, and the Hoops’ attacking situation might have changed by the summer, so perhaps Miovski will come up as a potential signing.

Celtic should always be looking to improve the squad when possible, and perhaps some time in the future Miovski will be a player that can improve the Hoops, but perhaps not at the moment. Only time will tell.
