Celtic have recently been linked with a move for South Korean striker Cho Gue-sung, a player who performed well in the World Cup for his country.

The Hoops could be needing to sign another striker in case Georgios Giakoumakis eventually leaves – either in the January transfer window or in the summer – and signing a striker at the moment would give the player time to bed into the squad for the rest of the season.

Only time will tell if Cho is the striker that the Hoops buy, but the 24-year-old has scored a lot of goals in his career, both for club and for country, and that perhaps caught the eye of the Celtic scouts and perhaps even Hoops manager Ange Postecoglou.

If Celtic do sign Cho in the January transfer window, he could do a job for the Hoops in the second-half of the season, but you have to think that Celtic might not see the best of the forward until season 2023/24, as he will surely be used to life in Scotland by then.

This is all just speculation, but as Celtic have been quick on the draw in the transfer window over the past few weeks, maybe Cho will join the Hoops sooner rather than later.

In the meantime, take a look at the numbers behind Cho Gue-sung’s career so far, for both club and country.
