After months of speculation, Josip Juranovic has left Celtic, the Croatian right-back has joined Bundesliga side Union Berlin. It is not a surprise to see the player depart after all the speculation, but it is still a pity when such a good player leaves the club.

Celtic do have replacements for Juranovic in the squad in Alistair Johnston and Anthony Ralston, and that could well be a reason why the Hoops agreed to let the player leave, and Juranovic could well have wanted to try a different league after spending a year and a half at Celtic Park, and he is well within his rights to do that.

It is a pity that Juranovic’s stay at Celtic was less than two years, as he has to go down as one of the best right-backs that have been at Celtic Park in a long time, and he played a big part in the success enjoyed by the Hoops last season, which few people would have seen coming when Ange Postecoglou was appointed Celtic manager.

Celtic’s goal has always been to buy players for relatively cheap and sell them on for big money, and that it is what has happened with Juranovic, and all at Celtic will wish him the best for his future.
