Well, he made a “mountain out of a mole hill” with all of his mouthing off in the run up to today’s game.
Now, it’s finally come home to roost.
Not only did he fail to keep his own mouth in check, he failed to shut his players up too.
This week’s “fashion statements” don’t seem so fashionable now, do they?
Celtic edged it 2-1 in an action packed Viaplay Cup final at Hampden Park.
Poor Mickey Beale.

Well, I guess that’s the cost that comes with being a motor mouth.
He stated in his post match interview that his team needed to “bite down on their gumshields and be stronger wiv their daily approach and wiv their daily work”.
As opposed to bumping gums, I suppose…
Which Beale was an expert at up until today.
He did say fair play to us for winning the cup and congratulated us, but I had to laugh at how he winced when he did.
That killed him.
The question is, has today’s result killed his momentum?
Will we see a collapse or will they come back stronger?
I’m sure Beale will come back stronger, because I don’t see him winding his neck in after today.
He’s probably going to become more brazen.
Because to retreat and back down now would only invite ridicule from the peepul.
That’s the position he’s now put himself in.
Over on Follow Follow, there is much angst and gnashing of teeth.
It is a beautiful thing to behold.
This one from Jardine 72 really made me hysterical:
“They are rotten. One dimensional, and found out when they play anyone decent. Infuriating that we can’t figure them our as they are bang average at best”
Yes, I suppose we got found out today.
The best team in Scotland really gave us a footballing lesson.
It must be infuriating to lose a cup final to a team as bang average as ours.
I feel your pain Jardine 72.
Another poor soul, Stuart pid, came out with this beauty:
“It’s the exact same goal I used to score over and over again when playing Fifa 97. So, so easy for them.”

But we’re a bang average side, how could it be so easy for us?
I’ll put it this way, if we’re bang average, what does that make Mickey Beale’s Gumtree Galacticos?
I have to say, though, I really enjoyed Fashion Sakala’s contribution to today’s game.
The square root of fuck all.
Other than missing a sitter.
I wonder if that gap toothed grin is sitting on his face this evening?
Well, I did say during the week that if they lost today’s game, the floodgates would open.
I said Chris Sutton would have a field day.
True to form, he’s playing a blinder over on Twitter:
Twitter: This isn’t a dig but Michael Beale hasn’t won anything yet as a player or a manager… (@chris_sutton73)
Twitter: Lucky Ange… (@chris_sutton73)
In reality, Celtic proved today that they are the real deal.
They don’t talk about being the real deal, they just deliver when it matters.
And that’s exactly what they did today.
Yes, we did drop off the pace when we conceded to the Ibrox side.
But they had to come at us, they had no choice.
By the 60th minute, it was evident Mooy was tiring and by the 65th, O’Riley was on for him.

The Ibrox side had just scored and I felt we’d struggle without him, as he had been breaking up their play throughout the whole tie.
We did struggle for a while, but when Tomoki Iwata and Saed Haksabanovic came on, the pendulum once again swung our way.
After that, Haksabanovic really should have scored two and put the game completely beyond them.
But the forward momentum he contributed was enough to see the game out.
Ange Postecoglu proved he had the tactical nous to outsmart Beale.

The question now is this, is it the beginning of the end for Beale?
Or is it the end of the beginning?
By the beginning of the end, I mean his side’s challenge this season, and by the end of the beginning, I mean will we see the old frailties we saw under Van Bronckhorst creeping back in?
On Follow Follow, they believe they will never win a title with Tavernier in the side and they believe Beale will never drop him.

Well I guess they’re the kind of headaches they’re going to have from here on out.
By the summer, they have will have to begin a monumental rebuild.
If the unthinkable for them happens and they end up trophyless, you have to wonder where the funding for a rebuild will come from?
In the mean time, I’m just going to bask in the glory of today.
I’ll leave you with how I finished last Sunday’s article, it seems pretty relevant:
My personal belief is that Karma is waiting around the corner to bitch slap Beale.
Karma and Chris Sutton.
Followed by thousands of angry peepul.
I reckon I pretty much nailed that one!
Enjoy tonight folks!
I know I will.
A good win, a nervy 10 – 15 minutes after their goal but, all in all the game was in our control. Looking forward to CSSB Sevco mourners, Devastated fae Dalmarnock, Lamenting fae Larkall and Angst ridden fae Ayrshire.
Was sitting there with £5 3-1 @16/1
And £5 Kyogo 1st scorer and 3-1 @60/1
Still cannot belive we didn’t score another
Still a good day though

Yes ! Will be hearing their pain on ssb tomorrow night.I love it when a plan comes together.
Eric,
I will need to take my medicine after saying we would win. So fair play to Celtic. In my opinion, Beale put out the wrong side against you so has to take the flak that is coming his way.
Fair play Billy. The medicine is easier to take, though, when you accept what went wrong. I would be inclined to agree with you, Beale set his team out the wrong way and then he was too slow to react. Celtic had 2 goals when he decided to change things, but by then, it was too little too late. From your perspective, Beale needs to talk less and deliver more. If you were being honest beforehand, I’m sure the mouthing off before the game from him and Sakala set your team up for an unnecessary fall and I’m sure there’s plenty of your fans out there who felt that.
I agree Eric,
Beale needs to step up to the mark on the pitch not off it.
