Even though Rangers pulled a goal back through Alfredo Morelos, the Hoops managed to see the game out, and indeed could have added to their lead, as both Matt O’Riley and Sead Haksabanovic missed great chances for the Bhoys.

Celtic were the better team at Hampden Park, and even though Rangers had a decent spell in the game after getting a goal back, Celtic’s substitutions made a big impact, and the players that were introduced by the manager made a big impression, as the Hoops looked immediately more solid in the middle of the park.
Celtic won’t dwell much on the win, as the Hoops are back in action next weekend against St Mirren, but a cup win is always worth celebrating, especially when it is against your biggest rivals.
