The board’s continued silence on Celtic fans being labelled Anti-Semitic makes it look like they believe we are

So, the news is filtering through today that Liel Abada is on his way out of Celtic.
MLS club Charlotte FC looks the likely destination accord to the media today.
If reports are to be believed, we are going to receive £11million for the player.
That’s not a bad bit of business, if it’s true.
The reality is, it’ll just be another £11million to add to the club’s already burgeoning bank balance.
It’s probably the best outcome for both parties.
However, the narrative on the whole Liel Abada debacle has been badly misrepresented in the media.
The Israeli media has painted our club in a despicable light, led by Abada’s former chairman, Avi Luzon.
The Maccabi Petah Tikva chairman claims the fans have treated him disgustingly, and The Daily Record were only too happy to report that.
However, I would beg to differ, as it appears that it’s his own people who have treated him “disgustingly”.

Either way, Abada has found himself in a no win situation at Celtic.
But I’m curious, what happens if Abada discovers part of the fanbase at Charlotte FC also supports the Palestinian cause?
Does that then mean that his former chairman can label them an Anti-Semitic club too?
Because lets be honest here, Abada is not stupid, he surely knew before he came to Celtic, that the club’s support had a long standing affiliation with the Palestinian people?
This didn’t just begin on the 7th of October.
Although, Israel would have you believe that this is the case.
I’m pretty sure, his friend and former club-mate Nir Bitton, would also have filled Abada in on the Celtic support?
At the end of the day, these guys are well paid footballers.
Certain things come with the territory, and I don’t think that all of a sudden, Liel Abada has just discovered that the Celtic fans support the Palestinian cause.
What I don’t like, more than anything else in all of this, is the light that our club is being painted in.
Our fanbase is being labelled as Anti-Semitic.
Rumours are circulating about the vile treatment we’ve been giving Liel Abada.
None of them substantiated.
But as you can see from the above tweet, it’s blatantly clear how much abuse Abada has been receiving from his own people.
What galls me even more is the silence from our board on this.
The Celtic fans are the lifeblood of this club.
60,000 of them fill Celtic Park every second weekend.
The club has a huge worldwide fanbase.
To label one of us Anti-Semitic, is to label all of us Anti-Semitic.
The media is using every opportunity it can to attack our club throughout this situation.
Yet the Celtic board remains silent.
Their silence speaks volumes it shouldn’t.
Their banning of the Green Brigade after their show of support for Palestine during the game against Atletico Madrid, speaks volumes it shouldn’t.
All their silence achieves is to highlight the disconnect between them and the fanbase.
But not only does it achieve that, it also makes it look like they believe we are an Anti-Semitic support.
The fact that they are allowing the club’s support to be tarnished in that way is shameful.
They are more than happy to take the accolades when our support is labelled as the best in the world.
But they will not speak up in defence of that same support when it is being viciously attacked by Israel, and the media.
Where is their statement condemning all of the vitriol aimed at our support, and effectively the club they are supposed to be custodians of?
Nowhere to be seen.
Where is their statement of assurance that they did everything in their power to try to convince Liel Abada to stay at the club?
The fact that they haven’t even done that much only adds fuel to this already raging fire.
The reputation of this club, and it’s fans, is being put on the line.
And the best response these charlatans can come up with is silence?
Their default response to everything.
With this, they’re really showing their true colours.
Not that we didn’t know what those colours were already.
All this does is further galvanise the fact that these guys are not fit for purpose.
Can you imagine if Fergus McCann was in charge of the club, and this was going on?
If we only we had someone like him in control of the club again.
We really didn’t appreciate what we had in him when he was at the club.
Our current board makes us realise just how much we didn’t.
Just when you thought they couldn’t go any lower….

After a deployment to Egypt which ended in 1946 the Battalion returned to Palestine where tensions had reached a critical stage in the run-up to the creation of the State of Israel. 1st Bn HLI was much involved in peace-keeping and suffered ten men killed and nearly seventy wounded. It was the last British unit to leave Jerusalem, in May 1948.
So Jocks from Glasgow who fought their way through France into Germany and helped liberate Bergen Belsen, were then killed by Jewish terrorists within two years of the end of WW2. Since then Scots in Glasgow have held a natural sympathy for tge Palestinians. They saw what actually happened and they saw the violence perpetrated by Jewish terrorist groups. The Green Brigade did not initiate support for the Palestinians, it existed for 30 years before the Green Brigade was formed. It’s not something we need the Celtic Board to bless.
As a 55 year old jewish Celtic supporter who lives in Glasgow I cannot understand why you can see the recent banner ,end Zionism as anything other than underlying anti semitism. That means Israel ahold not exist which is what Hamas terrorists want.
I am glad Liel has left our club.
Why do the fans care so much about Israel, why not have Ukrainian flags or protest about the one million people killed in Syria or even the thousands being killed in Haiti right now.
It’s because in the heads of some people the Jews are the rich colonisers who represent similar attributes to the British.

100% agree Eric, we’re being castigated by Israel and the smsm are printing these lies, no surprise there right enough, there’s not one iota of a backbone in our boardroom. These old guys are happy to take a dividend of millions out of the club every year and what do we get in reply? We’re now in a title race with a piss poor team with a manager who in truth is only slightly better than Mick Beale but is being lauded as world class from the Ibrox hordes. So I’m not expecting them to back us as a support and they’ll probably let BR get hung out to dry over his comments about Beaton which in my opinion are long overdue. Our support has seen plenty of Jewish players grace Celtic Park so to even suggest we’re anti-semitic is something I take very personally as I have Jewish friends, in fact I’ve got friends from many different ethnicities and cultures. I’d never dream of insulting any ethnic person or their culture as it adds to our culture here in Scotland and it’s why our support is loved all over the world because we respect every nation and their cultural differences and try to learn from them.
Richard, being anti Zionist is not anti Semetic as you well know. Not all Jews are Zionist, indeed in the past, only a minority of Jews were Zionist. Many Jews are against Zionism. Celtic fans aren’t against Jewish people, most don’t care about religion. However, they are against apartheid, oppression, ethnic cleansing and the murder of tens of thousands of civilians, mainly children. If you choose not to go back to Celtic Park then that is your decision. I choose not to go back for completely different reasons, until the board stop takung the fans for mugs and start investing in the team rather than looking at the bank balance.
