As Celtic question the SFA about THAT penalty incident, we all know they’ll get no meaningful response

Late yesterday evening, it emerged in the Daily Record, that Celtic were demanding answers from the SFA in relation to the incident that led to the Ibrox side being awarded a penalty by John Beaton.
The club believes that Beaton did not get to see the full footage of the incident.
In my article yesterday, I questioned whether this was an error, or whether it was deliberate.
I was willing to give Nick Walsh the benefit of the doubt on it, considering how balanced his performance as VAR was outside that incident.
But let’s get real here.
Everybody knew with Beaton in charge, that the game was not going to pass without a major incident influencing it’s outcome.
That penalty decision changed the momentum of the contest completely.
In favour of the Ibrox side.
As I said, Beaton was looking for an opportunity to “level things up”.
He didn’t hesitate when that opportunity came his way.
Whether he saw that Johnston had cleared the ball first or not, Beaton being Beaton, he was awarding that penalty against Celtic.
Nothing was going to stop it.
In Scotland, when a referee goes to the monitor to review a possible penalty, it is rare, if ever, he chooses not to award it.
So once that check happened on Sunday, the outcome was inevitable.
All the questioning in the world from the Celtic board will not change that.
In fact, there are a hell of a lot more questions need to be asked in the aftermath of this derby.
But we know the board will bottle it when it comes to really challenging the authorities.
Because it’s what they always do.
Joe McHugh went into it in depth in his article over on Videocelts this morning.
The safety of Celtic’s players and staff was once again under threat last Sunday.
And while Police Scotland might be investigating the incidents involving John Kennedy and Matt O’ Riley, the SFA as the country’s governing body should also be acting accordingly.
Under strong pressure from Celtic.
But that’s the thing here, they will neither react accordingly to Celtic’s questioning of the penalty incident, nor to the incidents involving John Kennedy and Matt O’ Riley.
Nor will our spineless board pursue these incidents to the level they should be pursued.
No doubt, in about a year’s time, we’ll hear about someone being sentenced to prison for the coin and bottle throwing incidents.
But what good is that to us in the long term?
What will it change?
Clearly nothing.
Because it happens again, and again, and again at Ibrox.
And they are never sanctioned by the SFA for it.
In any normal society, this would not be tolerated.
Can you imagine what would happen in England if coins were showered on coaches on the touchline during a Manchester derby or a North London derby?
How do you think the F.A. would react if a glass bottle was thrown at Marcus Rashford or Erling Haaland?
The sanctions would be off the scale.
Stadium closures would happen.
Huge fines would be incurred.
Because in normal society this kind of behaviour is not accepted.
It is unacceptable.
But in Scotland it’s acceptable, because it’s accepted.
That’s the problem.
It’s accepted by Celtic, and by our spineless board, who pay it the usual lip service, but never really do anything meaningful about it.
We facilitate this behaviour.
We facilitate it because we don’t do enough to ensure it doesn’t happen again.
Our club should be demanding that the Ibrox club is severely punished for this.
They should be demanding stadium closures, or partial stadium closures.
Because this is not the first time this has happened, and it won’t be the last.
But we won’t, because we’re too afraid to upset our O** F*** partners.
The blue pound means more to our board than the safety of our staff and players.
That’s the reality here.
Nobody wants to upset the status quo when it comes to the most intense football rivalry in world football.
It must be preserved as it is, with all the drama and controversy that comes with it.
Regardless of what happens to our players and staff.
It’s just another in a long line of reasons why our club needs change.
This board has been in place for the majority of this century.
They’re the reason the SFA will just laugh at us, and ignore us.
And as long as they’re in place, that will continue to happen.
Because if truth be told, the board doesn’t care.
Right now, the biggest concern they have is season ticket renewals.
And in order for them to ensure the money rolls in, they’ll pay these incidents lip service, but that’s it.
No more, no less.
That’s just the way it’s been for the entirety of the 21st century.
And it’s just the way it’ll continue to be as long as the fans continue to give them their money.
Nothing will change.
In a game that is crying out for change.

When are the rest of Scottish football going to do something about the corupt sfa and Thier refereeing buddies
I honestly don’t know where you get the idea that Walsh is “balanced”? Maybe it’s your forgiving nature? But I see him differently. He is just as bad as the rest of his colleagues in Scotland. Remember the penalty he awarded Hearts when the Celtic player was on the deck to the right of Celtics goal. The Hearts player dived over the Celtic player, from behind, and Walsh who was way outside the box with his view obstructed by several players of both teams immediately pointed to the spot. Whether he is a cheat, incompetent or both, others can form their own opinions of him. I know what I think of him.
And as far as Celtic questioning the cheats’ penalty award goes, I will believe it when I see it. Nothing will happen until we make Celtic develop a spine. Personally I think the story is bogus. The Dirty Redcoat (aka Daily Record) has form for inaccuracies, some would say outright lying.
Celtic should be also questioning Beaton failing to book The Silva Submarine for repeated simulation.
Kyogo goes down under a bad tackle in a different game and a mouthy gobshite says we could do without the dramatics.
The Silva Submarine dives for his life and treats us all to an oscar performance of a dying fly on ecky’s, and not a peep from anyone.
Go figure!
