“Why don’t they just play each other every week? Forget the rest!” Jeff Stelling ridicules the amount of times Celtic and the Ibrox side face off against each other

The English attitude towards our game never changes, does it?
We constantly have to listen to ridiculous jibes from down south on how their Nan could play in our league.
On how it’s a league for pub teams.
Blah, blah, blah.
The constant condescension from down there gets wearing.
Because it never changes, it’s always the same snide remarks from people who have little or no clue about our game.
Clowns like Jason Cundy and Jamie O’Hara have now been joined by none other than Soccer Saturday’s former presenter, Jeff Stelling.
Personally, I would never have pegged Stelling for a twat like Cundy, or O’Hara.

I thought he had a bit more class than them.
Simon Jordan, as much as I dislike him for his views in general, does try to talk up our game.
He tries to put a bit of objectivity into his views.
But Stelling?
He went straight for the jugular in the aftermath of the weekend’s Cup semi-finals.
Speaking on Talksport, which was highlighted in an article in The Sun, Stelling believes fans from England won’t care about the upcoming Glasgow derbies since both sides face off against each other “every week”:
It might be a long time since the last O** F*** Scottish Cup Final, but talkSPORT‘s Jeff Stelling isn’t too enthralled by the prospect. He reckons punters in England won’t care about the game due to the fact Celtic and R*****s face-off against each other “every week.”
Discussing the time gap between O** F*** finals game alongside R*****s icon Ally McCoist and presenter Shebhan Aherne on talkSPORT Breakfast, Sky Sports legend Stelling said: “Have they played each other a lot in the semi-finals?
So that’s why they’re not getting to the final, because they’re knocking each other out before then.
Funny how he reckons punters in England won’t care, considering the last Glasgow Derby drew record viewers on Sky Sports.
How was that possible if punters in England didn’t care?
It just shows the narrow minded, condescending attitude people involved in the soulless EPL have towards our game.
When, if they actually took the time to look at our game subjectively, people like Stelling might see what a decent product it is.
Our game is not soulless.
There is no comparison when it comes to the EPL for atmosphere.
It was the first thing that struck Matt O’Riley when he played his first game at Tynecastle back in January 2022.

He could not believe the atmosphere at that game, saying it was crazy, and that he’d never experienced anything like it in England.
Our game might not be awash with money, but it has passion, and it has a soul.
Something which is sorely lacking from the EPL.
But then again, when the likes of Stelling, and the rest of the Talksport clowns from down south weigh in about the Scottish game, it’s from a position of little or no real knowledge.
They’re judging a book by it’s cover.
Stelling reckons we should forget about all of the rest of the teams in Scotland:
For God’s sake, every English football fan will be thinking ‘Rangers against Celtic? There’s a surprise!’

Coming off the back of a weekend where we witnessed what will probably go down as one of the greatest Scottish Cup semi-finals in years?
A game that had everything.
An end to end slugfest.
Last minute equalisers.
Penalty shoot out drama.
Finished off with sudden death.
You couldn’t have asked for more from a game.
And that was against Aberdeen, but we should just forget about them, and play the Ibrox side all the time?
I mean, have you ever heard such bollocks in all your life?
As much as I dislike Ally McCoist, at least he bit back and put Stelling in his place:
Jeff, I have to inform you that we up here don’t give a monkey’s what every English football fan thinks!
Yesterday’s game was a good one, R*****s vs Hearts.
The one on Saturday, what a game by the way. Celtic-Aberdeen, a brilliant game to watch, finished 3-3, Celtic won on penalties. What a game of football.
McCoist is right, we don’t give a monkey’s what they think.
But we do care when they criticise our game in the way they do.
Because it comes from a position of entitlement and ignorance.
Fair enough, criticise the game from a position of knowledge and understanding of it.
But shut your mouth and say nothing if you’re clueless about it.
Stelling is just jumping on the Talksport bandwagon.
Lowering himself to the level of morons like Cundy, and O’Hara.
I can guarantee him one thing though.
Plenty of fans worldwide will tune in for both upcoming Glasgow derbies.
Simply because it’s the most intense derby in World football.
Nothing in England comes close.
That’s just a simple fact.

If Celtic FC played the clumpany every week ,there would be only one overall winner ? Neil McCann ! He would get so much work ,that the £200 thousand + bucks he owes to Hector would be paid off in jig time …no problems !
Personally do not like playing 4 Glasgow derbies in league and 4 times other top6 sides! Should have bigger top division only playing each other twice!Would be better league for it!
