With rumours abound that Miovski might be on the move, Celtic need to ensure the Ibrox side do NOT secure the Macedonian’s services

There are rumours flying around in the papers today about Bojan Miovski.

Apparently, he dropped a cryptic hint on his X account, stating, “Fruitful adventures await…”.

Now, we all know that this could mean anything in reality.

The player could just be teasing the Aberdeen support, who knows?

The Sun seemed to jump on it very quickly, stating that Miovski has dropped a “big” transfer hint, amid interest from both the Ibrox side and Celtic.

Not so sure about that.

But, what I would say is this, nothing concrete is emerging as yet when it comes to Celtic’s pursuit of Adam Idah.

And while I have no doubt the club will be working hard on landing the Irishman, there’s also a chance it may not happen.

If that scenario happened, then surely Celtic must have a plan B?

And surely Bojan Miovski would feature in that plan B?

Now, whatever Aberdeen’s asking price might be for Miovski, there’s no doubting Celtic could afford it.

We’re cash rich at the moment.

But it all depends on whether Peter Lawwell is going to interfere and attempt to penny pinch.

Look, let’s call a spade, a spade here.

Miovski is a well established striker in the Scottish Premiership.

There is no doubting if he was surrounded by better players at Celtic, that he could be lethal.

He is just coming off the back of a 20 goal season.

Now, it’s probably likely that Celtic will baulk at the asking price for Miovski.

Simply because we seem to have some aversion to paying over the odds for someone who plies their trade in the same league we play in.

But let me make a suggestion here.

I did a poll yesterday on which players we should be looking to offload in the upcoming transfer window.

It’s fair to say we have quite a few excess players on our books.

So, if we find the asking price for Miovski too high, then what is stopping us from making a player, plus cash, offer?

There are plenty of players in the list I named in yesterday’s article.

All of whom could probably walk into the Aberdeen starting line-up.

Say somebody like Oh Hyeon-Gyu?

Oh goes to a club like Aberdeen, gets guaranteed first team football, and we land a decent striker in Miovski without having to pay an absolute fortune.

It’s a win, win.

Surely a deal like that would delight Peter Lawwell?

Not that it should be Lawwell we’re aiming to delight, but the manager, Brendan Rodgers.

I guess what I’m trying to say is, yes, we have an over-bloated squad, but why not utilise these players to help get deals over the line?

Especially home based deals?

If we look across the city, we can see they’ve been busy beavers already.

Three signings are in the door already in Jefté, Oscar Cortes, and AC Milan’s Clinton Nsiala, who has been endorsed by none other than Paolo Maldini.

I’m sure Maldini has stated clearly that Nsiala, who has played one game for AC Milan, will play for Real Madrid, or Barcelona one day.

That might have happened if he had chosen not to join the Ibrox side…

I digress slightly.

The point I’m making is that they will be in the market for a striker too.

We all know of their interest in Lawrence Shankland, another prolific Scottish Premiership scorer for Hearts.

The Sun, and online site, Glasgow World, state that the Ibrox side are interested in Miovski also.

Whatever about Shankland, Celtic should not allow the Ibrox side to land Miovski.

And I would say that regardless of whether we land Adam Idah or not.

Miovski would do damage, and there’s no doubt he’d score a lot of goals, were he to sign for them.

Whether they would have the capability of meeting Aberdeen’s asking price remains to be seen.

But what they do not have, like we do, is an excess amount of players that they could use in player plus cash deals.

Which should make the purchase of Miovski a no brainer for our club really.

You have to believe that Celtic are considering it.

I think it would be negligent of the club if they ignored a player like Miovski.

And especially negligent if they allowed him to move to our closest rivals.

I guess we’ll just have to see if “fruitful adventures” lead to Celtic Park.

Won’t we?
