Kasanwirjo set to be the latest Ibrox hero to take the fight to Celtic, and he can play in 4 positions you know?

Neraysho Kasanwirjo is the latest in a long line of players to be made an Ibrox saviour.

This is before he’s even kicked a ball in anger for them.

There isn’t much to cling to after Sunday’s mauling, but to be fair to Fraser Wilson of the Record, he’s giving it his best shot with this morning’s article on the Ibrox side’s latest multi-positional signing.

Yes, this is a player who is “so gifted”, he can play in four positions.

The question is, can he play in all four at the same time?

Because that’s the kind of hero the Ibrox side needs right now!

Isn’t it amazing that they always seem to find these “gifted” gems?

It must be down to our board that we just can’t compete on the “gifted” scoring charts.

Watch this space, soon enough we’ll be competing for the “most gifted player trophy”.

A couple of months back, another “gifted” player was on his way to Ibrox.

I wrote a glowing article on this guy.

Yes, Hamza Igamane even boasted Army Service, and he was going to set the Premiership alight.

On Sunday, about the only thing that looked like it had been set alight after he took to the pitch was his jersey.

Which was in tatters by the final whistle.

Of course, Kasanwirjo wasn’t eligible to play for the Ibrox side on Sunday due to his late signature, but chances are they would have won if he was available.

Such is the level of talent he displays.

Danny Buijs, the current Fortuna Sittard manager, was on hand to give a glowing reference for Kasanwirjo.

So good is said reference, I’m surprised he’s not playing at Fortuna, rather than at Ibrox.

Buijs originally signed Kasanwirjo when he was managing Groningen.

Here’s his view on the majorly talented, multi-positional, gifted young Dutchman:

He (Buijs) gave the defender his Eredivisie debut for Groningen after signing him from Ajax’s youths three years ago and was so impressed with his ability on the ball he couldn’t take him back out the team. Kasanwirjo went on to make 32 appearances that season and after just 18 months at the Euroborg Stadium was poached by Arne Slot at Feyenoord.

Yes, so impressed was Arne Slot with Kasanwirjo that he gave him a humongous seven appearances at Feyenoord.

Then Kasanwirjo was loaned out to Rapid Vienna, where his multi-positional talents were put to good use.

Upon returning to his parent club, the Ibrox side were waiting in the wings to swoop in for his outstanding talents.

And so the fairy tale has begun for Neraysho Kasanwirjo.

So talented, that he will take the Scottish Premiership by storm, and singlehandedly put Celtic back in their place.

Former Kilmarnock defender Buijs just couldn’t get enough of him:

I signed Neraysho from Yong Ajax, you could see straight away he had been at Ajax because technically on the ball he was very good even at such a young age.

He had to learn that in professional football there are other important things, physical aspects and that at the higher level it’s more about results than when you play in the youth system at Ajax. But he developed as the season went on.

A really big compliment indeed.

It appears that this guy is the real deal.

So it would be remiss of Celtic not to take him seriously.

Okay folks, all jokes aside, if I was to continue to insert quotes from ex-Killie defender Buijs, I think you’d be asleep by the time you finished.

It goes on, and on, and on.

But to be fair, Fraser Wilson of the Record has to do something to rally the Ibrox troops.

Of course, there’s no pressure or expectation on Kasanwirjo’s shoulders now, is there?

They have to build their hopes around someone, I guess.

Compare and contrast the record breaking Celtic signature of Arne Engels.

A week ago, the Record was reporting Engels would most likely be playing for Augsburg last weekend.

Scaremongering with “transfer doubt” rumours.

Do you think when we signed Engels that the Record bothered to put a feature length dossier and profile on him?

Not on your life.

We pay £11 million for an established Bundesliga standard player, and the Ibrox side pays nothing to take a player on loan from Feyenoord, but he gets a feature length article on his vast array of skills?

They continue to do this over, and over again.

Hyping up players before they’ve ever kicked a ball for the Ibrox club.

And in doing so, setting unrealistic expectations of a player before he’s ever taken to the field of play.

All to appease the only remaining readership they have.

Celtic fans read this garbage and just laugh.

I’ll make a prediction here and now.

Kasanwirjo will pass in and out of Ibrox having made little or no meaningful impact during his time there.

When he leaves, he’ll reflect on what a bad experience his time there was.

And how much it set his career back.

He’ll be expected to set the world alight when he plays Celtic, and he’ll fail miserably.

All because he was hyped up ridiculously before he ever played against us.

No doubt he’ll play well against lower level Scottish Premiership opposition, and we’ll see him shine against the likes of Ross County.

But he’ll be found wanting when it comes to playing the bigger sides in this league.

The media here destroys players who come to Ibrox before they ever kick a ball.

You know what’s worse though?

They don’t even realise they’re doing it.

I’d wish Kasanwirjo the best of luck, but I can’t do that.

My conscience won’t allow me to.

He plays for the Ibrox side.

Not to worry though.

The media have already killed his Ibrox career.

Definitely nothing to worry about here.
