Celtic will not cost Celtic anything in Sunday’s final. But if there’s a debt to be called in, John Beaton will find a way

The Ibrox side believes that it is their divine right to win trophies.
They believe that at this moment in time, they have been robbed of their rightful place in Scottish football.
And that we are the team who has robbed them of it.
Therefore, by default, John Beaton believes the same thing.
Because he is, after all, one of them.
If Willie Collum’s mission to reform Scottish refereeing has brought about change, then I fail to see where these changes are being applied.
Other than being shown Youtube videos of select honest mistakes every so often, nothing has changed.
Why is this?
Well, just as I predicted on our new pilot podcast last Tuesday, the Trinity Tims, John Beaton will be refereeing the League Cup final between ourselves and the Ibrox side.

We’ll be discussing this more in depth on tomorrow’s podcast, so keep an eye out for it.
But today, I want to discuss just what the implications of John Beaton being in charge of this game could be.
I’ll also discuss this in the podcast with Joe and James.
As I discussed in a recent blog, there is a hell of a lot riding on this game for the Ibrox side.
This game, should Celtic win it, kills the survival lie, buries it.
It is inevitable that this is going to happen, even if it doesn’t happen today week, it is inescapable.
We will pull ahead of them on the trophy count.
We will make the number 55 impotent.
So now, whether you believe it or not, there is an element of desperation taking over at Ibrox, and I believe this is why Beaton has been given the League Cup final.
The harsh reality that being gifted all of the dead club’s trophies could, in one week, count for nothing.
Rendering all of the effort to ensure that the continuation lie happened, null and void.
Which leads me to wonder, is Willie Collum really in charge as head of refereeing?
Or is someone above him calling the shots?
Well, I’ll put it this way, does Willie Collum really believe that John Beaton is the best man to referee Glasgow Derbies?
Because he seems to be the go to guy of late.
Are we to believe that John Beaton is one of his most trusted referees?
The best of the best?
I don’t buy it.
How is it that I knew this was going to happen before it did?
Because this is what we’ve come to expect.
I expected it.
And Beaton’s selection shows us that nothing at all has changed when it comes to Scottish refereeing.
It shows us that Willie Collum is just a figurehead, a puppet, who does what he’s told.
Because if he was his own man, then put simply, John Beaton would not be refereeing this final.
Somebody like Nick Walsh would.
Walsh is the best of a bad lot, but he displays some level of competence and has shown that he can control these games better than most.
If we want to talk about competence when it comes John Beaton, then reference our manager’s comments on him after the game at Tynecastle last March.
But is it really incompetence?
If Brendan Rodgers wants to label it that, in a professional capacity, he has to.
I don’t.
Beaton influenced the game at Tynecastle last March to ensure we did not return to the top of the table, after his favourite side slipped up at home the previous day and lost to Motherwell.
He refereed the game from the VAR room.
Overturned decisions that the on field referee made and upgraded them to suit his agenda.
VAR stands for Video Assistant Referee.
The VAR is there to assist the on field referee, not the other way around, yet that is what happened at Tynecastle last March.
This is why I do not, in any way, trust John Beaton to referee any game between us and the Ibrox side.
Unconscious bias does not enter into it, whether it is a factor or not.
Conscious bias, however, does.
Because John Beaton supports the Ibrox side.
He does not even hide this fact.
We saw what lengths he went to show his allegiances in December 2018.
So the question is, how far will he go to show where his allegiances lie next Sunday?
Considering what is at stake?
I’ll put it this way, why should I as a Celtic fan, suffer from palpitations every time a Celtic player gets near an Ibrox player in the box when John Beaton is refereeing?
If I had nothing at all to worry about when he’s the man in the middle, then I wouldn’t feel this way, would I?
I’m not even getting into the debate about declaring allegiances.
Willie Collum was asked about that when he took up his new position.
All he did was obfuscate, deflect, and avoid answering the question.
It is the elephant in the room of Scottish football, and it’s not going away, you know?
On paper, Celtic are favourites to win this game.
In reality, if we play our game to the best of our ability, we should be untouchable.
We tried to play our game to the best of our ability last March at Tynecastle, look what happened there.
But we should never be going into this game worrying about the referee.
Yet I am.
Celtic will not cost Celtic anything next Sunday.
We’re simply too good for that.
But if there’s a debt to be called in, John Beaton will find a way, just as he did at Tynecastle last March.
And by that, I mean, he supports a club who believes Scottish football owes them, big time.
He supports a club that stands to lose a status created through lies and manipulation next Sunday.
And once that’s gone, there is nothing.
Nothing to brag and bullshit about anymore.
Do you really think that none of this sits in the conscience of the man in the middle next Sunday?
A man who is a self-proclaimed Ibrox supporter?
If you think otherwise, then you’re only fooling yourself.
This man has the power to disrupt next Sunday’s cup final in favour of the underdog.
Because make no mistake, they are the underdog.
But this is life and death for them.
If we win next Sunday, the survival lie, the continuation lie, whatever way you want to look at it, dies.
They know they will have to fight extremely hard to have any hope of coming out on top.
Having a twelfth man will be a massive help.
That’s why the SFA have chosen John Beaton.
You know it, and I know it.
And that worries me, it really does…

Ive watched Scottish football for years atleast 50 and ive never trusted a ratbag in black and thats the truth because ive seen some bad decisions going against celtic especially against the biggest cheats in Scottish football oldco and now newco The Ranjurs 2012 we always seem toget cheating beaton muir dickinson cancy collum robertson and a few others but hopefully if any bad decisions go against us through beaton our VAR i hope BR takes our players off the park and embarrass they masonic fuckpigs at hampden and then the celtic board should go after them all and show all the bad decisions through the last 10 years that has cost celtic football and as we all know the blue half can only won with cheating as we all seen with there EBT SIDELETTERS YEARS and the people running our game done nothing to trip oldco cheating titles and cups thats what celtic football club is against corruption to suit the liebrox lies.shower of rats run our game i hope the police step up one day and rip hampden apart and catch the lot of they corrupt bastards the police in England would have to do it because police scotland is full of masonic fuckpigs aswell..Hail Hail
If Celtic play the football we have see this season it will make no difference who the ref is or var Celtic if on form have to many good players in there team and should be to good for the rangers 2012 3 nil to Celtic.
Celtic need to let these people know that any dodgy or biased refereeing will be challenged.
The SFA effectively backed down when the club produced a K.C. to dispute Brendan’s touchline ban, so perhaps a warning shot should be fired on this occasion.
This is on the Celtic board.
They should have set the scene with the SFA that we would not accept BEATON.
If we have made this clear to the SFA and BEATON as we suspect cheats then I would hope the club have alerted UEFA of what’s going on BEFORE a ball is kicked in the final.

Do you really think that the disparity between both clubs can be balanced out by John Beaton, especially when we now have the benefit of VAR?
As a celtic supporter, I think you are being a tad paranoid. He refereed the last game and there wasn’t even one reference to VAR, let alone a list of poor decisions. The decisions that he made in 2018 would now be reversed as a result of VAR so stop being paranoid and making us look paranoid as a support.
Seems like an effort to get your excuses in early . Beaton and others dislike , treat harshly down rite cheat at times , but where have you been the last 60 years ? We will win or loose by our play our decisions .
Does anyone honestly think that the Ref’s are against us? did we not win 4 trebles in a row? if the ref’s were that biased they would have found a way for us to lose a few cup games.

all the refs are as bad as beaton ,just because they have yet to photographed in a pub with sevco fans doesnt mean they wont be helping sevco at every opportunity
Beaton has already proven he can influence a result against us several times not just ‘bad’ decisions but critical timing of bad decisions. Any Celtic fan that claims differently is just an apologist prepared to cover there heads and get booted about instead of fighting back.
I’ve just read this article and the comments attached and for the life of me I can’t understand how some people can be so bitter and down right nasty over a football match to make statements that the referee is “one of them” what kind of low life would make statements like that. I only hope they don’t indoctrinate their children to this way of thinking
