Isn’t it funny how officials always get punished for making mistakes that cost the Ibrox side, but never for ones that cost Celtic?

So, the fallout from the Ibrox side’s penalty that never was rages on today.

At this point, public floggings need to happen in order to pacify the klanbase.

Frank Connor and Alan Muir have paid the price for not calling Beaton to the monitor after Liam Scales’ tug on Vaclav Cerny.

According to the Scottish Sun today, they won’t be on duty for any of the weekend’s upcoming fixtures.

Someone had to be made a scapegoat in all of this I guess.

It’s also interesting that Ibrox fans aren’t shouting for John Beaton’s head as well.

You know, in the way they demanded that Willie Collum never be allowed to ref any of their games after he failed to award them a penalty at Celtic Park late last year.

Heads always have to roll when the Ibrox side are on the end of poor officiating.

But what’s even more interesting is the fact that action always seems to be taken when they’re demanding it.

Reading the reports in the Sun and the Record today, it seems to me the SFA are going to concede to being wrong on this occasion.

Captain Jean-Luc Picard was obviously well briefed on how to approach these kinds of “hard done by” scenarios on behalf of his new club.

Here’s what he had to say:

The manner in which we lost was hard to take.

I have spoken with the SFA to ask for an explanation about the non-awarding of a penalty in extra-time.

So I will wait to hear what the SFA have to say about that.

For the Ibrox side, any manner in which they lose has always been hard for them to take.

Kind of like it was hard for us to take when John Beaton allowed Alfredo Morelos to run amok back in 2018.

And then went of to the Crown Bar in Bellshill to celebrate said allowance.

Now, THAT was hard to take.

But did John Beaton get dropped from officiating after that?

No, he didn’t.

The old “threat to life” texts were brought into the scenario.

And thereafter it was a case of, “poor John can’t do his job without being subjected to death threats.”

Focus off him, and on to the evil Celtic fanbase.

Was Beaton dropped after staggering levels of incompetence from the VAR room, when we played Hearts last March?

Nope.

But Brendan Rodgers was suspended for one game for stating the bloody obvious.

It seems to me that the Ibrox side are allowed to say what they want about officials.

With no consequences whatsoever.

And as a result, the officials involved in any incidents they’re whining about suffer.

Just like Frank Connor and Alan Muir have this time.

We discussed this “penalty incident” in depth on the Trinity Tims podcast last night.

James and Joe both agreed that they had never seen as hysterical a reaction from the media, as they have to this incident.

Whereby, I pointed out that any time we have voiced legitimate concerns, we have been labelled as paranoid freaks.

But it’s perfectly normal, sane, and acceptable when the Ibrox side loses their shit over an incident that doesn’t go their way?

And the media wades in wholesale on their behalf?

Apparently it’s “unusual” that Connor and Muir have been dropped from participating in this weekend’s fixtures.

As unusual as Willie Collum going weeks on end without refereeing an Ibrox league game last season?

Yeah?

I’m sure he was told the sweetener if he helped to keep the Ibrox club sweet would be the role he finds himself in now.

With a caveat, of course.

Do what you’re told.

Nodding dog, as I said in our podcast.

But as I said at the outset, when the Ibrox club demands that heads roll amongst the refereeing fraternity, heads roll.

When we demand a bit of transparency, and let’s be clear, that’s all we ever demand, then we’re labelled as paranoid conspiracy theorists.

So, what next?

Now that the SFA are about to admit they got it wrong on Sunday?

Well, I wouldn’t be surprised if they demanded the Cup final should be replayed.

So, the survival lie can be resurrected, and all can return to normal in Sevconia.

With the Village idiot leading the charge on that one.

Because that’s how unhinged they are over there.

They’ll probably demand that Willie Collum gets the sack.
