So, you’ve got to hand it to the Record.
They had to try and put a negative spin on our Champions League game before Wednesday night.
Young Boys have a secret weapon, well, it’s not a secret weapon any more, because they’ve revealed it.
But we should be very wary.
The Champions League whipping boys are going to give us a game on Wednesday night.
Their secret weapon?
Young Boys new manager, Giorgio Contini, had a chat with Carlo Ancelotti.

That’s us well and truly goosed so.
We’ve been fired a warning according to Mark Walker in the Record:
Celtic have been fired a warning by new Young Boys boss Giorgio Contini that his side can stun Celtic at Parkhead – with a little help from legendary manager Carlo Ancelotti!
The Hoops face the Swiss side on Wednesday in their penultimate game in the new look Champions League, with a win guaranteeing them a place in the play-offs.
I guess we should throw the towel in now and save ourselves the bother?
However, it looks like Walker is being a tad economical with the truth in his story.
Have a look at this:
Contini, who took charge last month, has sought out some advice from Real Madrid icon Ancelotti in a bid to reverse their fortunes.
This would indicate that Contini went to Ancelotti for advice on how to steady the ship at Young Boys, after getting the job.
But this is not the case, here’s what Contini himself had to say:
The former Switzerland assistant manager said: “I visited Carlo Ancelotti during the time where I wasn’t working in football.
When he wasn’t working in football.
Fair enough, when you read on, Contini tells us that he would like to apply what he learned from Carlo Ancelotti in the Champions League.
But Walker is giving us the impression that he sought out Ancelotti’s advice for the very purpose of beating Celtic.

With his secret weapon.
Now, my personal opinion is that we should not underestimate Young Boys due to the fact they are under new management.
The manager himself is actually fairly pragmatic in his opinions when it comes to what he needs to do to turn things around:
We have to find a balance between the time available and the results. At Celtic, we will try to be more creative when we have possession. I would like to see that. But I know that it won’t happen overnight.
That’s why we first have to rely on our strengths and boost our self-confidence with positive results.
Pressing is part of YB and we don’t want to shake this DNA. We want to be a team that presses, that is good at counter-pressing and switching play.
This game also suits the squad, which combines fast players and those with a lot of physical presence. We will certainly stick to that.
Anybody see language in there that is firing us a “major warning”?
Nope, I see a manager telling the press that he is going to try and be better in the Champions League.
But that it won’t happen overnight.
His words.
As I said earlier, we cannot underestimate Young Boys.

We underestimated Club Brugge, and see where that got us?
Our game against them ended up being one of the toughest games we played at home.
We know we have to go for it on Wednesday night.
Which also means that Young Boys are going to try and catch us on the counter attack.
Contini has stated he wants his team to play pressing, counter attacking football.
That’s his style.
And that’s what we’re going to face.
Next Wednesday night is one of the biggest games in our recent history.
I have no doubt we’ll be up for it.
Celtic Park will be rocking.
I think we’ll win it, but I take nothing for granted in this competition.
But there’ll be no secret weapons, despite what the media is saying.
We’ve had our usual major warning from the SMSM.
It’s up to us to do the rest.
The only “weapon” here is Mark Walker, the latest in the production line of hun sympathisers at the Daily Banger.
And that’s no secret.
Well said young tony
The Walkers and suchlike at the Record cannot hide their hatred for Celtic. Underneath it all is a bigotry and racism against a club that they perceive as Irish and Catholic. They cannot understand our “Club open to all” mentality, whilst also having those roots as part of our history. What a shame, as well as also being a statement about many in the establishment in Scotland! This country needs to grow up.
Celtic ? Young Boys ? sounds like an ongoing court case
Strange comment Bob, shows where your mind is at 😳Disturbing.
The adults are chatting about football so jog on. Hail Hail
Aye mate , that is a warning because right now we are not dealing with the high press , so evident last few games , I’m not feeling confident and normally I would’ve said no probs for us but not so sure with our lacklustre attitude.
Must play and sing to our highest standards then have a party at the villa
Wishwell thinking as usual from the* R….they have been doing it for (think of a big number) years…!
Pity the bookies never offered daily odds on a negative Celtic story….bugger me….I’d be rich..!!
Must be the only country in the world where the sports media actively works against one of its own clubs.Shitkicker mentality, total embarrassment
The so called journalists at the daily rangers always have to write shite about celtic always negative they never have anything decent about our club but always big up sevco .from a national newspaper. National disgrace …hail hail .
