Let’s get the job done tonight Celtic, and then lets go to Villa Park and and qualify for the last 16

Tonight we dare to dream at Celtic Park.

We dare to dream of being in the knockout stages of the Champions League.

And we dare to dream of competing and doing ourselves proud in the knockout stages.

This is where a club of our size and stature should be.

I have no doubt Celtic Park is going to be an absolute cauldron tonight.

No doubt that the Young Boys players will never have heard decibel levels in a football stadium like they will hear tonight.

It has been over 12 years since we’ve had an opportunity like this.

12 years of European frustration and what ifs?

But no more.

Tonight, Celtic faces the weakest team statistically in the competition.

But statistics and football are two completely different things.

Young Boys have not competed at this level up to this point this season, and the statistics relating to their performance thus far do not lie.

But since December, they have a new manager in Giorgio Contini.

And there is no doubt that Contini wants to prove that he is the right man for the job.

He has come to Celtic Park with a point to prove.

If we think we’re going to get an easy ride tonight, we should think again.

However, we are more than capable of winning this game.

But we have to keep our heads.

We have to keep our cool, and we have to feed off the atmosphere and the Celtic Park crowd.

There is no question the crowd will play it’s part.

The team just has to play theirs.

They need to reproduce the kind of performances we saw against RB Leipzig and Slovan Bratislava.

With a mixture of what we saw in Bergamo as well.

We need the same steely determination and concentration levels we saw in that game.

If we do that, we should see this one out.

Will we see it out comfortably, well I guess that depends on how fast we come out of the traps tonight.

If we score an early goal, it could be a long night for Young Boys.

But if we don’t, just as I stated in last Sunday night’s podcast, this will be a war of attrition.

However, it will be a war of attrition we will win.

I’m predicting 2-0 tonight.

I’m also predicting Adam Idah will bring an end to his scoring drought this evening too.

And then let’s go to Villa Park and secure our place in the last 16.

We need to believe we are good enough to do that.

If we get through tonight, then the shackles are off.

We can go to Birmingham knowing we’re in the knockout stages.

Then we could really have a chance to make history.
