It’s a strange day in the world of Celtic, to say the least.
We can win the title today without kicking a ball, and in a strange twist of fate, we are now relying on Jimmy Thelin, and his resurgent Aberdeen to land title number 55 for us.
Yesterday, we kept up our side of the bargain by delivering a masterclass against Kilmarnock at Celtic Park.
Whatever Brendan Rodger said at McDiarmid Park and throughout the week since, hit home.
We got to see the real Reo Hatate, instead of the imposter who has been impersonating him, very badly I might add, for most of the season.
The real Reo Hatate scored two excellent goals in the 5-1 rout.
Then funnily enough, Cameron Carter-Vickers thought that he’d impersonate the real Reo Hatate.
In fact, you could say he went one better with his screamer into the top left hand corner of Kieran O’Hara’s net.
When Daizen Maeda scored early on, I thought he would be in the mood for that ever elusive hat-trick I keep saying he’s going to bag.
But it wasn’t to be.
Ah well, it’ll come before this season is out, I’m sure of it!
Considering it was 4-1 at half-time at Celtic Park, it was inevitable we’d ease off a bit in the second half.
With 88% posession, in reality, Kilmarnock were spectators for most of the game, barring Danny Armstrong’s beautiful goal.
Well, it’s up for debate whether he meant to cross it, or whether he meant to do what he did.
But it looked good.
It was about the only bright spot in a very dour day for Derek McInnes and his Kilmarnock side.
I don’t know why, but I always relish beating McInnes.
Maybe it’s just the generation of Celtic fan that I am?
But the dark days of the 90’s, and anybody who had anything to do with their 9 in a row, will always be the target of my ire.
Anyway, back to today.
I’m off to my CSC later on, for what I would say is the first time I’ve ever gone there to watch a game which doesn’t involve us.
Obviously, I’m going to be shouting for Jimmy Thelin’s side, and based on Bazza’s current haphazard domestic form, anything could happen.
The Aberdeen fans will be itching to get one over them, and rub it in their faces that they were the ones who caused them to concede title number 55 to Celtic.

So I’ve no doubt it’ll make for compelling watching.
I expect Aberdeen to win 2-0.
Thus resulting in celebrations kicking off back in Glasgow, with a wonderful welcoming committee waiting for Bazza’s heroes on their return from ignominy.
I decided to dip my toe into the batshit crazy world of Hugh Keevins this morning, something I always do on Sunday mornings.
To my detriment really, because it baffles me how this fraud steals a wage with the shite he writes.
This morning, he was on top form, and I don’t mean that in a good way.
He firmly believes that the Ibrox side, yes THE worst Ibrox side that has taken to the field of play since they came into existence in 2012, will win the Europa League.
He believes that it’s preordained that the Ibrox side will win in the Basque country next Thursday night.
Simply because Athletic Bilbao couldn’t beat them when they were reduced to 10 man at Ibrox last Thursday night.
The Matalan Catalan’s as he called them.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but it order to be a Catalan, you must preside in Catalunya, yes?
Now, I can only assume that Keevins thought he was being funny by using the term Matalan, which of course, refers to the UK budget clothing retailer.
In other words, he was trying to say that Bilbao were the budget version of Barcelona.

But considering Bilbao are from the Basque country, over 500km away, he must have them mistaken for another Catalan side, Espanyol.
Now, they are definitely the Matalan Catalans, and we have discussed many times on Celtic blogs about the Espanyolification of the Ibrox side.
If this was Shug’s idea of a joke, it’s failed spectacularly.
I’ll put Hugh’s geographical error down to old age, and the absence of any editorial supervision whatsoever at the title he works at.
I can’t think of any other logical reason for it anyway.
In addition to the fact that I can’t think of any logical reason why he believes the Ibrox side will win the Europa League.
Having said that, I’ll reserve judgement on all of this until after Thursday night next.
Unlike Hugh Keevins, who believes their victory in this competition is inevitable.
Preordained, even.
Last week it was Ibrox eccentricities, this is week, it’s Matalan Catalans. whatever will it be next?
Well, one thing that is definitely preordained is that Celtic are going to win the title.
Either today, or if not, very soon.
So I’m off to my CSC now, to not watch a Celtic game, which could win us the title.
Weird?
Yeah, I know.
Well, at least I’m not batshit crazy I suppose.
its preordained that iff heevins sais anything the oposite will happen the poor mans demented
Pre ordained ! The super succinct way to describe the old QE11 and his pathetic career in ‘ journalism ! ‘The only word missing from all of it is ‘ failure ! ‘ But people aren’t fooled …not in the slightest . HOTLINE !!!
It’s good to read Hugh hun every week he makes me laugh on a Sunday a would nae even watch the filth in my front garden sort that out
Hugh Keevins has been indulged his whole career. He should have retired a decade ago instead he has account taxis (non driver) and someone following him around with a laptop as his IT skills are non existent on account of him being “old school”.He has a juvenile chip on his shoulder about our club, and still claims “Rangers”are 153 years old.He thinks Bilbao is in Catalonia.Clearly just got a gig beyond retirement to wind up they Irish immigrants,of whom he is descended.Utter tosser.
He’s baiting Celtic fans under orders from his hun paymasters to get clicks
Ignore him and they’ll drop him like a bad habit
Interestingly his younger brother Frank is the parish priest of St Mungo’s in Glasgow and a REAL Celtic fan which comes across in his blog. He often refers to his big brother as the ‘doyen’ of Scottish sports writers. Frank is a far better writer.
Hugh was fine years back when he took over from John Rafferty at The Scotsman but was it him being duped and writing that Artur Jorge was going to be the new manager that led to him becoming negative towards the Hoops. I suspect as he slid down the slope to the rag that is the Sunday Mail he knows to feed the assorted hunnery that read that
read that trash he has lowered himself to their level.
