Whether Keith Jackson ever admits it or not, there is no doubting he reads what we Celtic bloggers write.
Because over the years, we’ve been proven right time out of number.
He can laugh at us, he can scorn us, as he has often hilariously done to Joe over on VideoCelts. But he can never say that we’ve been as consistently wrong as he has.
Joe has always had the last laugh.
Over the last week or so, he has gradually started to apply the brakes to his “World Exclusive” story on the US Fakeover.
Tempering expectations, if you will.
Whether that’s out of fear of being made a fool of, or whether he’s actually paying heed to what we say, doesn’t really matter.
He’s starting to realise that he’s been sold a dud, so now it’s about damage limitation and lowering expectations.
Today, he lowered the ultimate expectation.
That his favourite side, as a result of HUGE investment from the supposed Fakeover, might actually be in a position to challenge Celtic.
Today, he has already conceded next season’s title to Celtic.

But not only has he done that, he has also stated that if the Fakeover happens, Ibrox fans should expect nothing much to happen in the next 12 months.
Here’s what he had to say:
Of course, Andrew Cavenagh and his associates from the San Francisco 49ers will have their own ideas about becoming disruptors but, even though the American consortium might be coming, the smart money says nothing much is likely to change over the course of the next 12 months.
Because Brendan Rodgers and his squad is already so far ahead of the race for next season that no amount of new money and fresh thinking from across the pond is likely to make any discernible difference to the bigger picture.
To be frank, Cavenagh and his legal team are making it more difficult with each day that passes without the paperwork being signed, sealed and rubber stamped on this impending takeover.
While Rodgers will already have one eye fixed firmly on what he needs to improve his team over the summer and will have placed his irons in the fire, Rangers are stuck in a state of almost perpetual flux.
A lot of concessions in there, wouldn’t you think?
Concession of the title to Celtic.
Then the concession that Cavenagh and his legal team are making it more difficult with each passing day.
But the ultimate concession is that nothing will change, even if the Fakeover does actually happen.
Operation temper expectations is now well under way.
Hate to break it to you Keith, dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s, well, that’s what Cavenagh and his legal team are doing.
And I think it’s fair to say, they don’t like what they’re finding.
In addition to the fact they don’t like the behaviour of the Ibrox fanbase.
Which was once again amplified during the Europa League tie against Athletic Bilbao last week.
Whether UEFA choose to act on that remains to be seen.
What stands out more than anything else in his article, though, is the fact that he is desperate for Barry Ferguson to get the gig at Ibrox on a full time basis.
A subject we’ll expand on in this evening’s podcast, and the ramifications it’ll have for Celtic.
James has already written an extensive blog on it over on The Celtic Blog, which you can catch by clicking the link.
Bazza is the ultimate hero after yesterday’s poxy 2-2 draw with Aberdeen because he delayed Celtic’s inevitable title celebrations at Pittodrie yesterday.
The way they celebrated Hagi’s goal, you’d swear they just wrapped up the League title themselves.

I guess that’s what we’ve reduced them to at this stage.
It smacked of the ridiculous celebrations at Firhilll back in 2017 under Pedro Caixihna.
When draws are celebrated like title winning victories, you can see why Keith Jackson is already conceding next season’s title to Celtic.
It really is the hope that’s killing him.
Hopes that are dwindling by the day, as the Fakeover starts to look less and less likely.
And you can see that by his completely defeatist attitude today.
It’s ironic that Jackson thinks Barry Ferguson has instilled a winning mentality in this Ibrox team, yet he’s willing to write next season’s title off this early.
In reality, the only reason Jackson is desperately wants Bazza to get the job is because he naively believes he can instill some sort of never say die winning attitude in them.
But as the old saying goes, you can’t make a silk purse out of sow’s ear.
No matter how good Bazza is at instilling a winning mentality into his players, if you’re just not good enough, well, you’re just not good enough.
It’s that simple.
And that applies to both Bazza, and his charges.
I’ll leave you with Jackson’s final say on the bleak future ahead at Ibrox.
It makes for luscious reading:
But, the longer Cavenagh’s takeover rolls on without a decision made on the manager, the more likely it is that they’ll be back again in time for pre-season training when they could become someone else’s problem.
And the more certain it is that next season will end the same old way that it always does. With another party in the Celtic Park car park.
I feel your pain, Keith.
I really do.
As for sympathy?
If you’re looking for that Keith, you’ll find it in the dictionary between shit and syphilis.
You dug your own grave with this Fakeover shite.
Financial chaos in trumps tariff USA , stock market crashing bond market taking a change of course , insider trading in a market without rules except those of honest trump , the rag ers takeover looks a distant mirage , so all in all when jackass puts up the white flag it looks over before it got of the lunch pad , celtic only problem is keeping Brendan and investing in the squad for Europe that’s our future.
To my eyes and ears , Inaction – chief sports scoop of the daily Record looks and sounds like a beaten contender! His body language and voice ,give me the impression that he’s been heavily defeated , both at his daily work and as a dyed in the wool theRangers fan in private ! Is the Record in such a desperate state and shambles that his and other senior scoops’ employment is on a sticky wicket ? It’s looks and sounds like he does not care any more and if he’s proven once again to be a charlatan story inventor of the worst kind …so be it !
The 98% owner of 49ers was asked recently why he is buying clubs in Scotland and not investing in the 49ers in the States. It was an absolute no happening. He said that Leeds was on another P&L, and would affect the budget of the real 49ers. He went on further to say that there will be no purchase of any other football clubs in Europe.
I believe the person who has the largest shareholding in the 49ers group over Jackass Jackson all day long.
ST season. They had to spin something spectacular to get them sold or they were looking at an empty stadium next season, and not because of steel from China
This rangers Obessed site at it again you bhoys over at “the club where Jim torbett worked ” really do have to take a step back from your Obessed Rangers pish it’s funny how much we dominate your every waking minute And to think two weeks ago Scotland’s penne state fc got found out and paid out but no instead of crawling under a rock embarrassed at the truth about the bhoys club ,no it was Rangers are not Rangers anymore the ibrox club 😳 ps I’ll leave you till the rest of your night trying to convince yourself we died and then when you finally fall over and get awoken by more thoughts on Yes Rangers BJK
If you look at what happened with the Leeds takeover..they immediately sold most of their best players for over £100mn to balance the books……in the tribute act case however they don’t have that value….Hagi out of contract..Cortes obligation to buy for £3mn…couldn’t pay £400k for the fella from Dundee…Butland making so many mistakes he has limited value…6 or so 1st team players out of contract….
Like the club graham dott supports Billy?
Nice one Liam.
The Tribute Act fans don’t understand irony if they did they would be on the point of being self aware.
The world outside Scotland knows the Old Club died. It’s in the record books and on the Legal files. It’s even been mentioned in Parliament, the Englishy wan, and was recorded in Hansard, the Holy writ in Westminster. If it happened, it’s there.
The team that Richard Gough played for and Graham Dott supports.
Loved your line
If you’re looking for sympathy, you’ll find it in the dictionary between shit and syphilis.classic
And if you look, it IS actually there!
Rangers will be turning in there grave at the state of the rankers.
You’ve obviously missed a mediocre Rangers side scoring 9 against your mob in the last 3 games. The idea that Rangers need to spend £80m to catch a side who lost to St Johnstone is utterly laughable. A win in a few weeks and Rangers will be totally dominating the head to heads taking 9 from 12 against knewco.
There isn’t a head to head trophy though is there ya clown.
The Rangers poor deluded fans 😢 celebrate draws not uncommon for them but sad don’t hate them sympathise with them lost souls
Rangers did die.
