‘Ending this Parkhead decade of dominance’ may be the be all and end all for the new ‘Ibrox regime’, but it’s up to Celtic to show them that that’s a pipe dream

Instant success, that’s what it’s all about at Ibrox.

We want to win the title yesterday, no, we want to win the treble yesterday.

Unfortunately for the Ibrox side, it’s yesteryear since their predecessors won a treble.

22 years ago to be precise, when Alex McLeish’s EBT superstars bought and sold their way to a treble back in 2003.

The current entity has one title, a Scottish Cup, and a League Cup in 13 years, yet they demand instant success over there.

This is the same level of success as St. Johnstone, within the same period of time.

After Saturday, Aberdeen are one trophy behind them in that same period.

We all know that the Covid title was an anomaly.

Let’s just say if Covid-19 hadn’t been a thing, then it’s highly unlikely they’d have won that title.

This is the thing, it’s always been about instant success over there.

But on what basis?

If the new club had a track record of success, more so than the other clubs around them, then it would be easier to understand these sorts of demands.

But they don’t.

They all talk about the Ibrox club being built on a winning mentality.

What winning mentality?

They are serial losers.

A new club that has won very little of note throughout their 13 year existence.

They spent the whole of last week end laughing at Celtic.

What were they laughing at?

What gave them the right to laugh at us when they won nothing this season?

When they were knocked out of the Scottish Cup by lowly Queens Park from the Championship?

Maybe they should take a look in the mirror.

A good hard look, until the realisation hits them that the only joy they can take from an abysmal season is to see Celtic missing out on a treble.

That was the ‘BIG WIN’ for them.

The ‘Celtic didn’t land the treble cup’.

Today in the Record, we’re being treated to ‘The next Ibrox manager live’ feed.

Which I’m sure most bears are watching with great anticipation.

In it, it says that ‘Ending this decade of Parkhead dominance is the be all and end all for the new R*****s regime’.

For starters, who said it was a decade?

That should read, ‘Ending this century’s Parkhead dominance’.

Because that’s the reality here, Celtic has dominated the majority of the 21st century.

Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises arriving into Ibrox isn’t going to change that and deliver instant success.

Contrary to what the media keeps saying.

They aren’t going to be giving the new manager this ‘huge transfer kitty’ the media are talking about either.

The fact that they’re looking to appoint a complete rookie as manager should make that blatantly obvious.

They want a guy who will work within the constraints they want to impose on the club when they eventually get this takeover over the line.

As I’ve stated in previous articles plenty of times, these guys are not coming into Ibrox to shower money on the place.

They are looking to turn it into a profitable, sustainable business.

They will NOT guarantee instant success, despite what the SMSM says.

That whole idea is a pipe dream.

The biggest clue in all of this should lie with Andrew Cavenagh.

His business is health insurance.

One of the most risk averse businesses out there.

Which clearly indicates that Cavenagh is NOT a risk taker.

He is not someone who will throw money at the Ibrox club for the ‘love of the club’.

The reality is that he has no affiliation to the Ibrox club whatsoever.

He is not in any way immersed in the club’s history, well, it’s 13 short years of history anyway.

He doesn’t care a jot for the dead club’s history either.

Cavenagh will have zero interest in the club’s religious or political leanings.

In fact, they will most likely be anathema to him.

Hence the reason it’s statement o’clock every time the fans step out of line now.

He will be looking to bring all of that to a swift end.

Andrew Cavenagh sees the Ibrox club as a business acquisition, and he will endeavour to treat it as such.

He will want his business to turn a profit.

He is not entering into this alone.

It is, after all, a consortium, or so we’re being told.

Do you think this consortium will be throwing THEIR money at the Ibrox club for the ‘love of the club’?

Think again, I’d say.

Once these guys get into power, the entire Ibrox fanbase is in for a short, sharp shock.

The hilarious thing in all of this is that they’re totally oblivious to it.

They’re too busy trolling Celtic fans after losing the Scottish Cup.

This is what they have to cling to.

That and the pipe dream of Sugar Daddy Andrew Cavenagh sweeping into power and knocking Celtic off their perch.

Well, it’s now up to Celtic to show them that how much of a pipe dream it really is.

We don’t have a rookie manager in place.

We have a manager who is demanding that our board spends big, and supplies him with the players he requires to kill the Ibrox pipe dream.

The funds our board have are not imaginary.

They are very real.

And everybody knows it.

If Andrew Cavenagh is serious about challenging Celtic’s dominance, then he’d better bed in for the long haul.

Because this is going to be one long war of attrition for him and his consortium.

We are profitable.

We are cash rich.

And we are bigger in every way possible.

We have a bigger stadium.

Bigger sponsorship deals.

A bigger kit deal.

All we are short is a board who thinks bigger than they should.

But make no mistake, should we choose to, we can swat any challenge coming out of Ibrox aside.

Without even breaking a sweat.

That is the reality.

And it IS very real.

Unlike the garbage the SMSM keeps publishing about this takeover.

Which I might add, is still not completed.

They might want to get that sorted.

Considering the new season starts in just over seven weeks for them.

You know?

If they want instant success and all that?
