Just about 13 years ago, the current entity at Ibrox crawled out of the grave of the old club.
Like a Frankenstein’s monster, it was made up of the parts of the dead club.
It looked the same, it talked the same, and the klanbase behaved the same, if not worse.
But it was not, and it is not, the same club.
Over the last 13 years or so, it has taken on an identity unique only to it.
Driven by the hatred of everything and everyone around them, it has become a bitter, spiteful, and rage filled institution.
When the old club died, the fans wanted someone to blame.
They could have looked in the mirror, but there is no such thing as self-accountability at Ibrox.
It is never their fault.
Nothing is EVER their fault.
The various board members who have passed through the doors since 2012, with the exception of Mike Ashley and his people, have fed and nutured the hatred and blame game incorporated for almost 13 years.
In those 13 years they have formed an identity that is recognisable to everybody in Scottish football.
It might not be very palatable, but it IS an identity.
On June 23rd next, the last remnants of the flag bearers of that identity will most likely leave the building.
When the EGM which will facilitate a power grab for the new American owners happens, the remaining board members will happily surrender control of their beloved Frankenstein club to these pretty much faceless vulture capitalists.
Andrew Cavenagh and Paraag Marathe are at the forefront of this venture, but the remaining 90+?
Nobody knows who they are.
The Ibrox board members, while they love their club, which has been evidenced by the amount of their own money they’ve pumped into it, love the idea of getting that money back even more.
In reality, that is only human nature.
There was once a time where these men must have felt like they throwing money into a black hole.
Getting back all of that money now must seem like winning the lottery to them.
Because for a long time, I doubt they ever thought they would.
The problem is, getting their money back will come at a cost.
As similar a cost as selling your soul to the devil.
Which was in the title of the first article I wrote after the takeover was confirmed.
They are effectively passing the club, and it’s identity, however young it might be, into the hands of men who do not have the best interests of that institution at heart.
The Americans have THEIR best interests at heart.
They are not a group of benevolent investors who will just throw money at the club, for the love of the club.
Simply because they do not love the club.
To them, it is nothing more than a business acquisition.
Which they are adding to an ever expanding portfolio of businesses.
When the June 23rd vote goes through, which it will, don’t doubt that, the Ibrox club will lose it’s identity.
This vote will ensure the club is no longer a PLC, and that it becomes a private entity.
Meaning the fans will have no say whatsoever about what goes on at the club.
Added to that, the boardroom will be filled with men who have no real affiliation with the club, or it’s history.
In fact, they will be intent on creating their own history.
But first and foremost, they will treat it as a business, with the intention of making it a sustainable and profitable business.
The fan’s voice will not matter to them, and there will be no real Raynjurz men in the boardroom to listen to it anyway.
They will most likely quell any dissent very quickly, and they will NOT tolerate the rampant bigotry, hatred, and racism that forms the identity of that club.
Dave King will say that club has been passed into safe hands.
Safe is a concept that is alien to that club since 1986.
Safe means run sustainably and for profit.
That is an altogether new prospect for the majority of the current fanbase.
Ultimately, when the takeover is complete in it’s entirety on the 23rd of June, that will be the beginning of the end of the club’s current identity.
The fanbase will remain the same, but the men in the boardroom will never be the same again.
Effectively, the new Ibrox board will become “The Men in the High Castle”.
Surveying all beneath them, while remaining untouchable.
By June 23rd, their power grab will ensure they own the club outright.
Then they will essentially become untouchable.
And it is then that they will be able to assert their authority.
Bit by bit, they will erode the current identity of the club.
They have made it clear they will not tolerate the behaviour of the klanbase.
All of the mealy mouthed statements from the club regarding fan behaviour in the run up to this takeover has shown us that.
It even makes you wonder what will become of the Loving Cup?
The Ibrox club is about to become something it has never been in almost 40 years, a sustainable, profitable organisation.
In order to become that, they must live within their means.
We are about to find out what that entails.
When the remnants of the old board have finally left the building, with their pockets lined with the millions they thought they’d never get back, which will have been worth more to them?
The millions lining their pockets?
Or the forfeiture of the soul of club they loved so much?
Loved so much, that they poured their own personal fortunes into it?
It appears that their love of the club had become stretched to it’s limit.
John Bennett was a perfect example of what that love did to his health, and his fortune.
This will be their legacy.
When the fans are begging for them to come back in a couple of years time, they will be basking in tropical sunsets, cocktail in hand.
And even if they wanted to, there would be nothing they could do.
The Americans will own the Ibrox club outright, giving them the power to do with it what they wish.
No amount of protests, or begging of real Raynjurz men, will change that one iota.
On the 23rd of June, the real Raynjurz men will leave the building.
The men who occupy thereafter will answer to no one but themselves.
The Ibrox club as the klanbase know it now will cease to exist.
And as for Celtic?
Celtic will remain the exact same entity it has been since 1888.
Celtic will continue to be the most successful club in Scottish football history.
Because that’s the difference between us and them.
We would never allow what is happening to their club to happen to Celtic.
We would leave no stone unturned until we knew exactly what any prospective buyers had planned for our club, were that ever to happen.
In 2012, the Ibrox support stood idly by and watched their club die before their very eyes.
In 2025, they have stood idly by as the board sold it’s soul to a pretty much faceless corporate entity.
They have no idea what they plan on doing with their club.
And when it goes private, they will not be privy to anything the Americans plan on doing.
In fact today, the Onion bears are more concerned about fund raising for better Tifos next season.
Tifos which will most likely end up banned by the new regime, especially after the last abomination.
Don’t say we didnt warn you.
When you tell us we’re shitting our pants at the thought of this takeover, just remember when you’re shitting yours that we tried to warn you.
We may just be the best friends you had in all of this.
Because I can assure you, Andrew Cavenagh, Paraag Marathe, and the 90+ other faceless investors are not your friends.
But that realisation will hit you in time.
And when it does, it will all be far too late.
Enjoy the euphoria of your takeover while it lasts.
Because the reality of it will soon become very apparent to you.
The new regime will hand pick the SMSM scoops who can ‘ duck walk ‘ and march best to all of their tunes …their happy useful idiots who will continue to be ‘ blind to the truth ‘ to all that occurs behind the closed Ibroxland doors ! Spinning everything to be all fluffy and superb knowing fine well the new shareholders have lots of balls in vices , tightening the grip ! The old succulent lamb has been replaced with fried chicken …ribs and fries , oh and the ubiquitous cheeseburger and soda . Lots of brown nosed scoops will be desperate to obey and conform to the latest board in Govanlandia . The shit show has commenced …duck and cover!
Excellent stuff, Eric, their ongoing ignorance surrounding this takeover is just mind boggling, as though Green & Whyte never happened, as though the death of Rangers never happened, even though, deep down, they know it did, and now Wacko Jacko telling them ‘the honeymoon is over’ after a week!
I particularly liked one wag here calling Mr Marathe ‘Padraig’, as that will likely have Hun sphincters twitching already 😁

A great assessment of things at the bigotdome. As usual, the celtic blogs are the best place to go for honest straightforward opinions on the big takeover talk. Msm are a waste of time and social media is full of crap. Any comment you attempt to make on there brings a torrent of abuse on how much you are all sh**tting yourselves. It’s hun believable lol. Give it time for the dust and the hype to settle and we’ll have a better idea of what sort of a threat this could be to Celtics continued domestic domination. Meanwhile, take a step back and enjoy the funny side of it all HH

Eric , what do you expect will happen when the klanbase finally realise what their klub is and do walking away permanently, what happens to the klub then , would the yanks do anything to get their money back .
It’s something the klanbase can do and surely that would collapse the klub indefinitely.
For the Ibrox mob, the Loving Cup has become a poisoned chalice. Their thick as mince supporters, believe that their club has been taken over by the SF49ers, and that mullions and mullions of shekels are heading their way. The fact of the matter, is that the Huns have been bought by a consortium with a link to the 49ers…but that is all. As you say Eric, profit is the name of the game here.
The above consortium also owns Leeds United, a PL team. Their priority will be Leeds, and not a 13 year old wee diddy club.
The Huns will be asset-stripped. Once there is nothing left, the Yanks will bugger off to pastures new, leaving nothing but chaos in their wake. Cannae wait.😂
