Celtic fans are in stitches as Keith Jackson discusses Russell Martin being fired before he even takes the job at Ibrox!

And the Ibrox pantomime just gets better and better!

As expected, the Ibrox fans are a tad underwhelmed, to say the least, with the imminent appointment of Russell Martin.

So, Keith Jackson in his infinite wisdom, has decided to start a Mexican stand-off between the Ibrox support and the “new regime”.

We’re not yet a week into the new owners tenure, and the fans are declaring war on them already.

You couldn’t make this up!

Now, I did write an article yesterday, stating that the Ibrox support might not perceive Martin as a very “bling” appointment.

But the backlash since I wrote that article has been hilarious.

And it’s been a source of much amusement for Celtic fans since then.

Jackson states that Andrew Cavenagh is in for a “Rodeo ride” as the klanbase go “thermonuclear”.

We’re about to find out very quickly who’s going to be in charge at Ibrox, and it ain’t gonna be the klanbase, that’s for sure!

Even if Keith Jackson is going to be their mouthpiece.

There’s going to be no “succulent hamburgers” on offer from the Yanks.

Jackson might have been a useful idiot to Dave King, but the Americans are a different prospect altogether!

You can be pretty damn sure these guys won’t suffer fools gladly.

And as soon as they realise how inept the SMSM is in comparison to a real functioning 4th estate, they’ll decide to keep them on a mushroom diet.

Even if they do cause a thermonuclear mushroom cloud in the process!

Apparently Jackson reckons the “undiluted passion” of the klanbase is the reason Cavenagh selected Ibrox for investment in the first place.

I think Andrew Cavenagh’s definition of undiluted passion, and the klanbase’s definition of it might differ somewhat.

What’s even funnier is that Jackson is firing Russell Martin from the Ibrox job before he even starts!

Get a load of this:

Cavenagh, of course, will not escape the blast completely if Martin does turn out to be the unmitigated disaster that a sizable number of the R*****s community already appear convinced he will be.

As the chairman and the driving force behind this American buyout, nor can he reasonably expect to be issued with a free pass. If he does then perhaps already he will realise it doesn’t work that way. Not in this city it doesn’t.

But, if Martin is as ill equipped for the position as many clearly believe him to be, then the new owner will be within his rights to invite sporting director Kevin Thelwell in for a chat along with Gretar Steinsson of the 49ers and to ask them to explain their thinking.

Upon reading that, you would get the impression that Kevin Thelwell and Gretar Steinsson are a pair of bungling idiots.

And that they’ll be taken aside by Cavenagh, and told to explain why they hired Russell Martin

Because of course, they clearly haven’t been explaining the process all along to Cavenagh.

Or liaising with him in any way, shape, or form.

I guess that must be down to the fact that Cavenagh is a greenhorn when it comes to owning football clubs.

He might soon find out that Ibrox has been his “Deadliest catch”.

See what I did there again?

The final paragraph in that excerpt would intimate that Cavenagh would be expecting his pair of blethering fools (Steinsson and Thelwell) to sack Martin if he was an “unmitigated disaster”.

I guess Jackson must just know he’s going to be an unmitigated disaster, just cause the klanbase says so?

To be fair to Keith, he does have great insight into most things, especially billionaires with wealth off the radar.

And of course, nasty Davide Ancelotti played them like a fiddle, didn’t he?

Because it’s a crime to keep your options open when you’re on the look out for your first managerial role.

That was such a bold and nasty thing to do.

You just can’t be doing things like that!

They do tend to be come obsessed with all things bright and shiny at Ibrox, don’t they?

And the Ancelotti name was definitely bright and shiny.

Regardless of the fact he has never managed a first team game of football himself.

Now, to be fair to Keith, who has great insight as I alluded to earlier, his verdict on Russell Martin has been pretty damning.

Because Keith knows a hell of a lot more than Kevin Thelwell and Gretar Steinsson.

Both of those twats should pay attention to this:

In other words, if Ancelotti represents the dream for some R*****s fans then Martin is their nightmare.

But, in reality, there is no hard or fast way of knowing for sure which of these candidates is best qualified for the job at Ibrox. Only Thelwell and Steinsson gathered and drilled into the data which has driven them towards this decision and convinced Cavenagh to get on board with it.

So Russell Martin is a klanbase nightmare?

And God knows how Thelwell and Steinsson convinced Andrew Cavenagh to get on board with all of this jiggery pokery?!

Only they know that.

But they should listen to Keith.

He’s the man who can spot billionaires with wealth off the radar a mile off!

These guys had better get down with the fact that Keith will be their go-to guy from here on out.

And when the succulent hamburgers and hotdogs are rolled out, Keith better be the first in line.

Cause he knows best.

Just like the klanbase.
