On Thursday night at Celtic Park, Rory Hamilton seemed at pains to get it across to everyone viewing that Wilfried Nancy was about to become the first Celtic manager to lose his first two fixtures.
Hamilton clearly hadn’t done his research.
Nonetheless, his erroneous assertion was jumped upon by the entire SMSM in the aftermath of Celtic’s 3-0 loss to AS Roma.
Tom English, as I pointed out in yesterday’s article, was clearly salivating as he pointed it out.
You would almost think none of these guys had ever heard of the internet?
The second I heard Rory Hamilton say it, I knew it couldn’t be right.
But the simple fact of the matter is that Wilfried Nancy is not the first Celtic manager to lose his opening two fixtures.
He will not even be the first to lose his first three if the unthinkable happened tomorrow.
But if these guys were any good at their jobs, they’d know this already.
Well, if they weren’t so blinded by their need to stick the boot into Celtic, that is.
And of course, Wilfried Nancy.
As I said yesterday, I’ve no doubt they’re sharpening their knives in the hopes we’ll stumble again tomorrow.

I used to be a Union rep in my working days, and one of the things that was drummed into me at the beginning, was to be absolutely sure that you had your facts right when it came to representing members at disciplinary hearings. Facts were important, without them you had no credibility. Get them wrong, and you would not last long in the game.
