As Celtic flirts with disaster – it is no longer a question of how did this happen – but why is it happening?

After yesterday’s article, some of my usual commenters on Read Celtic posted some very pertinent comments.

But none more so than the one I wish to highlight from VDM, or Valentines Day Massacre.

It asks all of the right questions.

But above all else, it highlights that absolutely nobody is asking WHY what is going on at Celtic is happening at the moment.

Have a look at the questions contained in the comment:

I still feel that nobody is asking why?

Why has the board allowed this omnishambles to happen?

Why has a super successful football club been allowed to struggle domestically with tens of millions in a bank account unspent to buy new players, and for the general health, and wellbeing of the club which would have prevented this mess to happen?

Why is the current boardroom fed up of winning leagues and cups and qualifying for the CL as home champions with over £40 million pounds of reward for doing so?

Why can’t anybody from the same current boardroom see the maelstrom of anarchy battering the club presently and for a long period of time, speak out to his colleagues and chairman?

Nobody is asking why to all of these questions and I want to know WHY not?!

It’s not just the affects of the bomb being dropped on Celtic FC by the current board that is most damaging …it’s the aftershocks that will be most harmful and ruinous.

Will someone with clout and influence please ask WHY?….current events are not only wrong from every conceivable angle…they are a damned disgrace!

And therein lies the most important question of all.

Amongst a worldwide support of hundreds of thousands, is there not one single voice of authority who can ask why this complete disaster has been allowed to happen?

Despite the best efforts of this board to sabotage our season, our season is still alive and kicking.

Against all odds, Celtic is still fighting on three fronts.

There are going to be at least two more European games.

We are still alive in the title race, and we are still in the Scottish Cup.

It seems as though we are still fighting on all three fronts in defiance of what this board inflicts on us.

The transfer window shuts on Monday evening.

Would it be crass of me to suggest that Michael Nicholson won’t be taking this weekend off work?

And that he won’t just be sauntering into Celtic Park for his usual comfortable afternoon in the soft seats for the visit of Falkirk?

I’m going to deviate slightly here from the main thrust of my article to make on point on Nicholson.

Have you ever heard of imposter syndrome?

Well, imposter syndrome (or phenomenon) is a psychological pattern where individuals doubt their skills, talents, or accomplishments, feeling like frauds despite evidence of their competence, often attributing success to luck or external factors and fearing being “found out”.

I’ve often wondered if Michael Nicholson suffers from imposter syndrome?

But then I realised that he actually is an imposter.

So therefore, he can’t suffer from imposter syndrome.

There IS no evidence of competence when it comes to Nicholson’s performance as Celtic’s CEO.

He has no discernible skills or talents.

And he cannot possibly feel like a fraud, when he actually is one.

He lives, eats, breathes, and sleeps being a fraud.

The only thing that he has in common with someone who suffers from imposter syndrome is that any success he has overseen has been attributed to luck and external factors.

And finally, he does not live in fear of being found out to be a fraud because he is a fraud

He has been allowed to be a fraud with little or no repercussions for his fraudulence.

Because there is no accountability for his actions, he ploughs along safe in the knowledge that up to this point, he has nothing to fear.

So when he wakes in the morning and looks at his reflection in the mirror, Nicholson does not ask himself if he’s suffering from imposter syndrome, he takes pleasure in the fact he is actually an imposter, and a fraud.

And that he is allowed to continue in his position without fear or favour.

So, at the outset of this article, VDM asked quite a few important questions.

But the overriding factor in all of the was why?

Why is this happening to our club?

Well, there’s part of the answer.

When you give an imposter and a fraud the job of CEO at Celtic, the end result is the omnishambles you now see unfolding before your very eyes.

To get back on point, a big part of this omnishambles is Nicholson’s inability to conduct business in the transfer window.

It is abundantly clear that he is absolutely incapable of working in the cutthroat environment of football transfers.

He is clueless in this department.

This is clearly evidenced by the last four transfer window.

People like Neil Lennon will try and tell you that this sort of behaviour in the transfer window is perfectly normal and acceptable.

Well, yes it might be for a Celtic board loving shill, but for people who live in the real world, its a slow moving car crash.

One we’ve seen time and time again.

There is no hidden genius at work here.

It is utter stupidity at its finest.

Anybody who thinks otherwise or sees this as some kind of viable strategy needs their head checked.

We are now at the mercy of selling clubs

Who at this point in a transfer window can name their price.

Instead, we’ll have a CEO who thinks he’s some sort of genius approaching clubs with lowball offers which, as we know, will achieve the square root of fuck all.

And when you operate within the sphere of the square root of fuck all, then you will achieve the square root of fuck all.

So, there you have it.

A big part of the ‘WHY’ Celtic is in the position it’s in is because we have a fraud and an imposter as our CEO.

As VDM said, we need a voice of authority to call this fraud out.

But the question remains….
