Day 3 since the “Battle of Ibrox”, and not a word from the Celtic board. What is it they’re waiting for?

You have to begin to believe that the reason we’ve heard nothing from the Celtic board since last Sunday is because they’re getting all of their ducks in a row.

They must surely be gathering all of the evidence after what happened to ensure their carefully worded statement covers all aspects of Sunday’s after match debacle?

Surely?

I’d imagine they’re working in conjunction with their “O** F***” partners to ensure a mutually beneficial outcome for both parties?

What gets to me is that at this point, there is no condemnation for the attack on one of Celtic’s employees.

That’s the least you’d expect considering this is not the first time this has happened.

Social media was awash with stories yesterday that the man who attacked the Celtic coach was a kids coach with a club called Glenbucks.

He apparently also trains Celtic supporting kids at this club.

We’re told his attack on a Celtic employee was totally out of character.

Strange one, that.

I suppose it was out of character for the Onion Bears to invade the pitch with the intention of hurting and maiming Celtic supporters?

Because if you were to read the media reports on all of this, that’s what you’d be led to believe.

That the Ibrox fans have not done this before.

I touched on that in an article yesterday, where I pointed out that the media gaslights people into believing there was no historical context to what happened on Sunday.

I can understand the Ibrox board issuing no statement of condemnation.

They said little or nothing when Scott Brown was attacked by an Ibrox fan a few years back, and Leigh Griffiths was hit with a 9 volt battery.

We’re led to believe that the Ibrox board and the Celtic board discuss these things in a gentlemanly fashion behind closed doors.

What is, however, very telling here is that the Ibrox hierarchy have not got fully on the defence with this.

The last few days were the perfect opportunity to get a deflection statement out.

Usually this is what the Ibrox club does.

They deflect.

Its strange that in conjunction with the media narrative, which seems to favour them over Celtic, that they have not used that opportunity to blame the Celtic fans for instigating what happened at Ibrox on Sunday.

In the past, this is fully what you’d expect.

Perhaps Andrew Cavenagh is looking at it in a different light?

As for the Celtic board?

Silence has generally been their default position.

Unless its a good opportunity to attack our own fans, so I’m surprised they haven’t done that either.

Eventually both clubs are going to have to release statements.

This is unavoidable.

I’d wager that you’ll see the Celtic board condemning their own fans.

Conversely, I’d be shocked if you saw the Ibrox side condemning theirs.

One way or another, these statements will be very interesting.

They’ll certainly generate a lot of debate.

Today is Wednesday, the clock is ticking.
