By the time the full time whistle blows at Hampden Park at the end of May, Celtic could – under the most unlikeliest of circumstances – end up winning a double.
In doing so, they will have rendered the Ibrox side trophyless for the second season in a row.
Make no mistake, Celtic will have been the team that landed all of the blows to ensure that outcome.
We have knocked them out of both cup competitions.
We held them to a 2-2 draw at Ibrox recently, and if we beat them at Celtic Park next May, that will surely be the final nail in the coffin of their season this time around.
Despite all of this, the Daily Record is reporting today that Andrew Cavenagh and the Yanks are about to sanction another “splurge” on new player signings in the upcoming summer window.
With over a quarter of the Motherwell first eleven on their radar.
Apparently, Cavenagh and Co have their eyes on Elijah Just, Tawanda Maswanhise, and Elliot Watt.
Cavenagh, according to Andy Newport, has already sanctioned over £50 million in spending this season.
That’s a bit of a stretch, but we’ll go along with the narrative anyway.
Now, he’s supposedly ready to push the boat out for Danny Röhl’s Ibrox revolution next season.

I guess its time to start pushing the old season tickets again?
And if the Klanbase aren’t being informed about another summer rebuild, then that’s going to be a bit of a struggle, isn’t it?
At the same time, you’ve got wonder if Andrew Cavenagh really is that stupid?
A man who made his millions in the insurance business, ploughing millions into a financial black hole?
Doesn’t make sense, does it?
People involved in insurance aren’t the kind of people inclined to take big risks.
Yet Andy Newport would have us believe that after spending “£50 million”, Cavenagh could be willing to do it all again?
When he might get a net return of jackshit at Ibrox this season.

As for the pursuit of Elijah Just?
Well, apparently, that only happened because Celtic are showing interest in Just.
Now, my personal point of view is that Elijah Just could be a very good acquisition for Celtic.
But I think Motherwell’s past record shows that they will always play hardball with us.
They tend to put a standard price tag of £3-4 million on any of their prime assets.
The Celtic board will always baulk at a price tag of that magnitude on a Scottish Premiership player.
But if we’re led to believe Andy Newport, the Ibrox side will have no problem spending that kind of money.
Well, I guess we’ll find out in the summer who has the real interest in Elijah Just.
He has shown himself to be more than capable of handling the rough and tumble of the Scottish Premiership.
Will the big spenders at Ibrox, or the penny pinchers at Celtic secure his services?
Roll on the summer window…
Key Takeaways
- Celtic could win a double and leave Rangers trophyless for the second season in a row.
- Rangers, under Andrew Cavenagh, plan to spend significantly in the summer window on new player signings.
- Elijah Just is among the potential signings, with reports suggesting Motherwell may demand £3-4 million for him.
- Celtic might hesitate to pay that amount, while Rangers may not have issues with spending more.
- The summer window will reveal which club secures Elijah Just’s services.

I had to laugh earlier today with the club flogging tickets for an evening with the board arse licker Mulgrew.😂😂
Wonder what that’s like? 🙂
I mean surely if you keep throwing the Dice, and you can find the capital to do so, you’ve got a better chance of winning?
At least Sevco spend money rather than milk the Cash Cow and trouser the Eternal Dividends ( as per DDs share ownership legal rights) pay extortionate salaries ( or “multi million bonuses) to your Lackeys, Incompetent Jobs for the Bhoys Empty Suits (£800k a year!) and Yes Men and hoard the rest as Cash in the Bank and sit back and watch as your Chronic Underinvestment and Incompetently Managed Decline brings the business to its knees?
My worry is if Celtic don’t take the Motherwell manager rangers will and that will be a problem
