The next few weeks between the Celtic fans and the Celtic board will be critical.
Critical, because season ticket renewals will decide whether the fanbase is serious about getting shot of this board or not.
The Not Another Penny campaign has, without doubt, seriously hurt the club.
But the emotional attachment that comes with retaining your seat at Celtic Park come season ticket renewal time is an entirely different matter altogether.
Fans don’t get emotional over missing out on the latest Adidas jersey or Merch, that’s a selective luxury in life.
You can take it or leave it.
But giving up your seat at Celtic Park in the hopes you might oust this useless board is a serious undertaking.
Because it might be a long time before you get it back again, if at all.
For the Celtic fans who have retained their seat for years, attending Celtic Park is a huge part of the social aspect of their lives.
It is a way of life.
So, for those of us who don’t have a seat at Celtic Park, like myself, we have to be cognizant of the emotional affect this will have on fans that do.

And have had for most of this century.
However, news has emerged yesterday that Andrew Cavenagh has committed another £16 million to the Ibrox money pit.
He has stated he is willing to possibly add more depending on how their season finishes.
The caveat in all of this benevolence?
A 6.5% increase in the cost of a season ticket.
That’s pretty substantial, so the fans over there are being expected to foot a good chunk of next season’s transfer bill.
Now, as I discussed in depth in my evening article last night, there is a distinct possibility Celtic could finish 3rd this season.
As I said, that would be a ground zero event.
With season ticket renewals due pretty soon, will the Celtic board be as brazen as the Ibrox hierarchy and apply a substantial price increase?
Especially with the risk of finishing 3rd, and the huge cost of the upcoming squad rebuild?
Despite the amount of finance sitting in the bank, would the board have the audacity to expect the fans to foot part of the bill by following the same example as the Ibrox side?
You wouldn’t put it past them, would you?
As we discussed on the Trinity Tims last Monday night, nothing is beyond the realms of possibility with these charlatans.
They could very well hike up season tickets substantially, and expect the Celtic fans to foot the bill for the enforced mediocrity that is their sole creation.
They need to tread very carefully here.
This becomes a decision that requires a lot of thought from both parties.
I think we all know who will think harder about it, and it isn’t the board.
This board never takes fan’s feelings into consideration.
How much money the fans can give them is all that concerns them.
You could also see them adding a substantial increase out of spite.
Its not as if Dermot Desmond doesn’t have previous when it comes to that sort of thing, is it?
Its quite possible that they could decide that they’re going to hit the fans back as a result of the Not Another Penny campaign.
Get their revenge, as it were.
In other words, recoup their loss through a substantial season ticket price hike.
Accommodating the fans in any kind of positive way certainly won’t be on their agenda.

And since they seem to enjoy their partnership in O** F*** inc., who’s to say they won’t follow their lead when it comes to season ticket prices?
A proper, well thought out gesture, would entail either reducing season ticket prices, or at the very least maintaining the status quo.
That would encourage people to renew.
It would represent a gesture of good will, something that has been sorely lacking from this board throughout this season.
The Ibrox club have no problem fleecing their customer base.
That’s easy to do when you pander to the sectarian, racist, and bigoted element amongst them.
They’ll pay anything to have the freedom to spew their bile unchecked week in, week out.
Celtic fans, though, are a completely different animal.
The board are about to hit a crucial juncture in this abomination of a season.
How they approach this could be instrumental when it comes to their short-term survival.
Because let’s be honest, nobody wants them at the club long term.
But that’s a story for another day.
It’ll be interesting to see how this one pans out.
We wait with baited breath…
