And so it begins, the thinly veiled, but not so thinly veiled threats towards Danny Röhl are under way after Sunday’s defeat to Motherwell.
Out of the traps like a bat out of hell is the village idiot, Kris Boyd.
Playing to the gallery as usual, and being the voice of the voice of the peepul.
Look, I don’t have much time for Danny Röhl.
The same as I don’t have much time for any manager who has the misfortune to end up managing that club.
As far as I’m concerned, Röhl, and every manager that’s gone before him knew what they were letting themselves in for.
Its only ever a matter of time before the klanbase starts baying for your blood.
In fact the only thing that can prevent that inevitable fate is winning the league.
You sign up to manage that club, you’re stupid if you aren’t aware that your survival is on the line from day one.
Up until Sunday, Röhl had been doing a competent enough job.

When he took over, the club was in disarray after the Russell Martin experiment.
He made them title contenders, now he’s lost one crucial game, and they want him gone.
Its always the same, it never changes over there, does it?
And as sure as night turns into day, Kris Boyd will be leading the way when it comes to putting pressure on any Ibrox manager.
Boyd is the klanbase personified.
14 years of total mediocrity hasn’t snapped him out of the fact that the Ibrox side are just shit.
He still believes its their divine right to win everything.
In fact, late yesterday evening in the Record, he had pretty much written off Röhl’s side and their chances of winning the League title.
Here’s some of what he had to say:
At the end of every season, if you don’t win it, questions will be asked of any O** F*** manager – it doesn’t matter who it is.
And there’s no doubt even more questions will be asked of Rohl if they finish third. That’s the nature of the beast.
I don’t think I’m saying anything that isn’t staring people in the face.
People will say that, from where R*****s were, to where they are now is night and day.
But you’ve got yourself in a position where you could have struck – and they haven’t done that.
Rangers could get themselves back into it. But for me, right now you’d have to say it’s highly unlikely.
Kris does love to prattle on about the Old Ferim, proof that he’s stuck in a time warp that pre-dates 2012.
Boyd now thinks its unlikely that the Ibrox side could get themselves back into this title fight.
Effectively, he’s writing them off.
And in doing so, he’s now saying the writing is on the wall for Danny Röhl.
Its the same merry-go-round every season at Ibrox, isn’t it?
They come so close, but then just fall short in the end.
Ultimately, that then spells the end for the manager.
In this situation, the Americans will either be ruthless, or they’ll stick with their man.
They might do that under the auspices of being progressive, and wanting to give him time because they believe he’s building something.
Chances are, though, that they’ll listen to the baying hordes.
Boyd believes that the Ibrox players just don’t have the bottle for a title fight:
When you look at Celtic, they have got players that have been over the course and distance. They know how to do it.
Hearts don’t have many players who have been over it – but they’re finding a way.
They’re now used to winning and they know they have to be at their best every single week to win a game of football.
When you look at Rangers, maybe there are some players who think they can just turn up and that will be enough.
It’s not. You need to be on it all the time, especially at this stage of the season because everyone’s on it.
Look at Hearts at Easter Road on Sunday. It wasn’t their best performance but you can’t criticise any Hearts player for what they gave their manager in the game.
If Rohl looks back at Sunday, there are probably two or three players who he’d question what their input into the game was.
Rohl is right that Rangers have dragged themselves back into it.
But they were in a position to strike and they haven’t done so.
One wonders if the two or three players Danny Röhl might question would be Captain Disappointed, Nico Raskin, and Thelo Asgard.
As soon as Captain Disappointed came on last Sunday, I knew their fate was sealed.
Especially after his mid-week announcement.
Tavernier himself put the kiss of death on their title chances with that revelation.
The pressure always gets them to them in the end.
When it does, the klanbase becomes highly volatile.
The vitriol they pour on the players and management is second to none.

People wonder why the players cave under the pressure?
You only have to look at their support for the answer.
They turn on them at the drop of a hat.
Then they boo them every chance they get.
The reason they win nothing is because of their fans.
And as long as their expectations are built around a team that died 14 years ago?
They’ll continue to win nothing.
