Sutton’s Comments and the Timing
We have heard a lot of opinions over the years as Celtic fans.
We agree with some.
Some we don’t.
But above all, Chris Sutton’s latest comments feel badly timed.
It’s one thing to say those lot have a better chance of winning the title.
That is another story with four games remaining.
Now is not the time to be doubtful.
Believe.
Now is the time.
Sutton was in no doubt when asked on BBC Radio 5 Live’s Monday Night Club if sevco had a better chance than Celtic of winning the title.
Yes, said he. Knowing Celtic haven’t beaten them [in the league] and they have got to go to Celtic Park, it wouldn’t be a big shock [if Rangers won].
Celtic are finding a way, but I don’t think that is sustainable.
I watch Celtic every week.
Even on Saturday night against Falkirk, they simply are not convincing.
They are finding a way at this present time under Martin O’Neill, but I don’t believe, and I have said this for a while, that Celtic can win these remaining four games.
I really don’t think so.
I don’t think Celtic will go to Hibs and get a result.
They won there early in the season, but Hibs beat them at Parkhead and drew at Parkhead.
Celtic haven’t beaten Hearts and Rangers all season.
Sutton asked questions about the performances.
He said Celtic are “not convincing”.
He even claims he “doesn’t think Celtic will win any of their remaining games”.
Finding a Way When It Matters

We know the performances aren’t perfect.
We’ve watched the same games.
We know Celtic aren’t running teams ragged.
But this group has already proved its mettle this season when it has been needed most.
And that is what matters most in a title run-in.
Of all people, Sutton should know that.
He’s been in title races before.
He understands that at this stage the players are feeling everything.
Every pass counts.
Every slip is magnified.
Hence, his comments seem so out of place.
The Media Narrative Is Shifting
At the same time, the larger media narrative is changing.
Now we are hearing more about Hearts and Rangers as the favourites.
Celtic are being pushed out of that conversation altogether.
That should tell you all you need to know.
The noise is growing.
The doubt is increasing in that lot, and the media narrative to kill off our season has begun.
We Have Seen This Before
Charlie Nicholas is the obvious one.
Once a hero, now a figure many supporters feel estranged from.
Not for having opinions, but for the manner and the timing of expressing them.
Sutton isn’t there yet.
But such comments do not help his image.
Now Is the Time to Back the Team

No one is claiming that all is well.
There are concerns.
There are problems.
But now is not the time.
This group has earned the right for support at this moment.
This is when you come together.
You support the team no matter what.
Celtic are still in this fight, and the weekend showed that.
Four games to go and belief is everything.
This isn’t the time for outside noise.
It is time to come together.
4 games to go…..
