Douglas “Red Card” Ross. What more can you say about this guy that hasn’t already been said?
Celtic fans despise the Tory MP.
The picture at the top of this article tells you as much.
And make no mistake about it, the feeling is very much mutual because Ross does not hide his disdain for Celtic.
Some people might call this particular toxic relationship one of the quirks of Scottish football.
I call it what it is.
Bollocks.
An individual like Ross should never be running the line in a game involving Celtic.
We all know who Ross’s leanings are towards, and he doesn’t even try to hide it.
The eagerness with which he put up the flag for Daizen Maeda’s goal last Sunday was a perfect example of the way he behaves when running the line in Celtic games.
He gets overly excited when he thinks he can call a decision against us.
It was through this kind of over-zealous behaviour that he earned the moniker, “Red Card Ross”.
For those of you of a younger persuasion, you might not remember the game at Ibrox between Celtic and ‘theym’ in March 2018, where he got an epileptic fit on the line and started shouting, “Red Card, red card, red card!!”
If you weren’t witness to it, I’ve provided the footage of it below:
Jozo Šimunović never stood a chance.
Ross nearly jizzed his pants after Willie Collum jumped on his “suggestion”.
After his dirty deed, he was convinced his favourite side would go on to win that game.
Alas, he never allowed for Brendan Rodgers’ tactical nous and Odsonne Edouard’s ability to finish.
Celtic ran out 3-2 winners despite being a man short.
Graeme Murty was left wondering what the hell he had to do to best the Irishman.
Just over 4 and a half years later, at a game between Ange Postecoglou’s Celtic and St. Mirren, the Green Brigade decided to let Ross know what they thought of him.
Many of the Celtic fans inside Celtic Park at the time agreed with the sentiments displayed regarding Ross, some even thought they were too mild.
Such is the opinion of this odious individual in the East end of Glasgow.
Some people might call me a conspiracy theorist if I said he was deployed against Celtic to antagonise our fans.
I’ll let you be the judge of that based on his behaviour last weekend.
You can judge the character of someone like Ross by the company he keeps, a picture sometimes speaks a thousand words, doesn’t it…

Ross is originally from Aberdeen, and apparently he’s just interested in cattle.
But he does like to pretend to be linesman in his spare time, which can at times, be detrimental to his political career.
However, that doesn’t stop him from engaging freely in his favourite past-time of screwing Celtic whenever he gets the chance.
Political career be damned, his hobby comes first.
Secretly, despite being from Aberdeen, Ross does have a penchant for a certain “establishment club”.

Being of the “establishment” himself, sort of thing.
With a mug like that, sure who else would he support?
Which brings me nicely along to BBC’s election coverage last night, and the moment where sniveling Ross shat the bed on live tv.
When questioned about running the line in the Hibs v Celtic game by BBC presenter – Martin Geissler – Ross dismissed it out of hand.
He retorted with a condescending, “Let’s move own to powlitics” is his posh Tory Scatch accent.
Of course the only reason he did that was because he knew Bernard Ponsonby, who was sitting to his right on the panel, would fillet him because he’s a diehard Celtic fan.
He thought he’d sidestepped the question, but Geissler wasn’t letting up, so he asked Ponsonby what he thought of Ross’s performance in the match.
Ponsonby, with his legendary acerbic wit, caused Ross to turn puce with his answer.
He replied sarcastically, “Well, thanks goodness for VAR!”
Which caused Geissler to erupt into hysterics, and left Ross wanting Dr. Evil to pull a lever and plummet his chair into a shark infested tank.
It was a thing of beauty.
On the money, and delivered perfectly.
Ponsonby knows exactly what Ross is.
We all know what Ross is.
The simple fact is that weasel should be nowhere near any games involving Celtic.
Or his favourite side for that matter.
He should stick to what he’s bad at.
Politics, and er, cattle…

As long as people treat it as a laugh it will continue but in my opinion it is disgusting prejudice clearly exposed in that instance.
He should have been forced by a panel to answer for his action just like Muir had to when he disallowed Diazen’s goal saying AJs cross went out.
Muir lost his position as a var ref so why hasn’t Ross lost his ?
He’s GOT TO GO . Infact all 4 of them officiating at that game have
Brilliant Ponsoby. But treating it funny lets him away with it. SFA are obviously scared that tory lawyers would support him if any charges against him were brought. Ive seen Bernard outside Celtic Park for a game. Once again its grin and bear it for Celtic Fans. Club should be doing something about it.
