Robbie Keane Would be the Wrong Choice for Celtic.

This has disaster written all over it.
Without the buy in from the supporters you are looking at Mission Impossible to be a successful manager at Celtic.
Why such negativity towards the former Hoops loanee?
Israel.
That spell he had there managing Maccabi Tel Aviv is not looked at from a sporting context in the slightest by our fans.
His decision to remain as manager after the countries appalling crimes to Palestine ramped up post October 7th is the trigger point for most.
Many will now argue going there in the first place was bad enough.
I don’t remember as much outcry about his initial appointment though as I did latterly his decision to remain.
Celtic have waved more Palestine flags than almost, if not any, other football club in Europe.
The supporters majority viewpoint is clear and it’s there for all to see.
To try and bring someone in who’s actions seem to fly in the face of our fans ideals and beliefs is madness.
The job now nor ever will be welcomed for Robbie Keane.
Does that tickle the Desmond’s baws though? A perverse enjoyment in our fans anger?
Nothing would surprise me with that lot.
The words from that Ross Desmond “speech” at the AGM and his whole demeanour still make me sick.
Yep, I can envisage that little smarmy grin as he tells Daddy how much this would show just who’s in power.
Because the Robbie Keane appointment is about more than just a footballing decision.
It’d be a power move to show who the real Boss at Celtic is and it isn’t those pesky troublesome fans.
We’ll show you lot. That sorta vibe.
Of course here is the irony – if it were to be Keane, I would imagine he would be backed properly as of course the next phase of the power play would be to prove you were right all along.
Best way to do that is to tool up your guy., not leave him hung out to dry.

Does Keane’s managerial record stack up, politics aside?
He has won League Championships in two countries top flights.
A National Cup in Hungary as well.
Last 16 of Europa League with Maccabi Tel Aviv.
It’s a decent pedigree, it’s the type of CV that sees your name get thrown about when the Celtic job becomes available I reckon.
The spin from fans now will be to discredit any of his managerial achievements such is the strong opposition to his appointment.
If it were simply based on appointing best in class of those available though I am not of a mind to think Robbie Keane is that.
We need a better Manager for this Summer rebuild than Keane.
We most definitely do not need such a circus before a balls kicked.
And there will be a circus if he is appointed, believe me.
Those upstairs might just be putting their popcorn in the microwave as we speak though listening to the first few pops with an unhealthy joy.
Keep Your Eyes On The Board.
What an absoulute nonesense that you spout, he managed a club in the country, he wasnt the bloody prisident of it, grow up and keep politics away from the club. Its one of the reasons we’re in the mess we are.
Did I once say in the article that his time in Israel would make me not want him in charge? Read it again.
Celtic don’t fly Palestinian flags a small of the support the green brigade who were banned from our matches for along time do. Israel are not guilty of appalling crimes to Palestine (which doesn’t exist). Your accusation as such is complete and under fake unfounded news. I agree 100% with Patrick O’Donnell. Celtic play football and shouldn’t be involved in anything to do with politics. If Robbie Keen fits the profile of a potential Celtic manager (I don’t think he does) then he should be considered on his managerial qualities. Where he gained his managerial experience is relevant only on his professional success irrespective of where it took place
Your article is therefore bigoted irrelevant and pathetic. I am by the way a Celtic supporter of over 60 years
Tell me what part of the article is bigoted please? To highlight the views of many fans and why it would make the appointment problematic is absolutely fair. Calm your jets with the rhetoric you are accusing me of please.
You are no more than an ignorant Board lickspitle.
‘Israel are not guilty of appalling crimes to Palestine’
This will be the same Israel that the Hague has cited for War Crimes and issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and his senior officials. That Israel.
With idiots like you around no wonder the Country is in the fukin state it is.
I’m unsure about him . I can see it’s going to cause a lot of friction rightly or wrongly so why provoke the people you are supposedly wanting harmony with . He’s a Desmond man so I think he won’t be demanding unlike MON who will want better quality . I don’t think it’s wise for any provocation after the season we just had albeit we won a double . If it is Keane it tells you what Desmond thinks of us
My thoughts exactly Kevin mate
Fuck off keane
Where do Celtic fly Palestinian flags? Show us and if you can’t then retract that statement. It is clear what is happening here with a few who are falsely calling themselves Celtic fans.
There is a club playing out of Ibrox that had an evil policy of not signing a Roman Catholic and what is being suggested here is that Celtic now implement a similar policy.
Your article does not disguise what you are attempting along with the guy with the verbal diarrhea over on the Celtic Blog.
Take your politics and shove them. Celtic was founded for all the right reasons and has improved on them as time has progressed.
Hi, thanks for reading the article.
If you havent seen the Palestine flags flown at Celtic Park thats ok. Just do a wee Google search of it. Uefa have fined over such flags at Celtic Park too, really surprised you didnt know.
The only view I have given in the article that is my own refers to the managerial achievements Keanes made and whether I think they warrant being made Celtic manager. Which I dont just yet.
The political view point is very much one looking at the bigger picture and pre empting how I see it playing out. If you think every Celtic fan agrees it is all about sport then you are wrong, it’s ok to be wrong. Im just highlighting the divisions i expect if he were appointed.
Spot on weebarra
These jokers are upset because Celtic banned them.
Quite right too.
If they are going to really invest in the team that’s what most fans want.
Not trouble making for the sake of it.
Celtic do need a better manager than Robbie Keane: Guardiola, Pochettino, Mourinho or Emery come to mind
but, unfortunately, they all have jobs. It looks like Keane may be the best of the bad lot who are available
If Keane is appointed there is no doubt that it will be a small minority who are unhappy and I think I
would be inclined to be part of that minority but, as the saying goes, beggars can`t be choosers.
You stated Celtic flew the Palestinian flag and I asked you to show us where.
many been flown by supporters in many sections of the ground, easy to find online.
Stick the Palestinian flag where the sun doesn’t shine. Every Celtic supporter has a different opinion as to who should or shouldn’t be manager. Personally I don’t care who the manager is. I go to support the TEAM… 🍀
Ahh supporters flying the flag. Being a we bit deceitful eh !
I am not surprised. My question is why.?
Always remember this Bhocie. The fans are not fools.
Ok mate
Are you for real?
Think it’s time for an IQ Test before being accepted on the site.
The levels of sheer ignorance displayed by some posters is epic.
